Scientists of South Ural State University took part in the shooting of a documentary series exploring the phenomenality of bread in the Russian and global history, science, economics, and culture.
International Mother Language Day is celebrated worldwide on February 21st. This date was chosen for a reason: students, who protested in defence of their native language, Bengali, were killed by police in Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh, on February 21, 1952. The students demanded to recognize this language as one of the state languages of the country. Later, on November 17, 1999, this holiday was proclaimed by the General Conference of UNESCO and has been celebrated annually since 2000.
At the excavations near the city of Magnitogorsk, SUSU archaeologists, in collaboration with the South Urals Foundation, discovered a unique-for-South Urals burial-mounds complex with an ancient tomb of a young woman. The remains were found during the excavations at Kharkovsky I ritual complex in autumn of 2022.

– Not every person is brave enough to move to a different country. Or to go study there for that matter. How did this happen in your life?

On January 18th, a presentation of the book Chelyabinsk Cinemas of the 20th Century took place at the Chelyabinsk Public Assembly House. The 5th Shanghai Archaeology Forum dedicated to the issues of climate change and social sustainability brought together more than one hundred of the top archaeologists from 43 countries of the world. Doctor of Sciences (History) from South Ural State University, archaeologist Andrey Epimakhov, became the only speaker representing the Russian Federation at the event on the campus of Shanghai University.
The anniversary week dedicated to the celebration of the 80th anniversary since its founding has wrapped up at South Ural State University. The program of ceremonial events turned out to be very rich and reflected the eventful history, cultural and sports traditions. While celebrating its anniversary for 5 days, our university spoke eloquently about the achievements of its schools and institutes, about science, innovations and multifaceted international activities, creativity and sports. On the final day, guests of the holiday were able to enjoy a gala show and a birthday cake.
History students of group СГ-406 presented a Digital History of SUSU website on December 11th. As part of the Young Stars project, this event became the first in the program of celebrations dedicated to the 80th anniversary of our university.

This book describes the life and work of Valerii Prokopiev, Doctor of Sciences (Engineering) (1986), Professor (1987), Honorary Figure of Russian Higher Education (1999), academician of the Russian Academy of Transport (1995), and Head of the Department of Automotive Engineering (1976–2009).
