SUSU awarded the best foreign graduates

South Ural State University has awarded the best international students who have proven themselves in academic and extracurricular activities. In total, about 400 people have become them this year.

Anton Manuilov, The Vice-Rector for Youth Policy and Social Affairs, addressed the international students with a welcoming speech: “Dear friends, I congratulate you on this significant event! In the near future, you will receive the coveted diplomas of graduation from South Ural State University. Indeed, international students are the pride of our university. You are a vivid example of how to study, live and enjoy being a student. Guys, I wish you good health, new successes in your studies, extracurricular activities, science and creativity. SUSU thanks you for having been, are and will be with us.”

66 people – the most active and distinguished in educational, scientific, sports, creative and extracurricular activities – were awarded letter of thanks and memorable gifts with the symbols of the university. In addition, thanks were also given to the parents of foreign graduates. So, the parents of student from Nigeria, Joshua Mosope Alavode, personally came to Chelyabinsk to congratulate their son and see the award ceremony.

“Traditionally, every year at the end of June, the university says goodbye to its graduates. And so, we are awarding the best foreign students of 2024. Since our university is known both in Russia and abroad mainly as engineering university, the main areas that foreign students choose are technical specialties, such as mechatronics and robotics, electric power engineering, etc. But, in addition, as a multifaceted university, we offer high-quality education in both the socio-humanities and natural sciences, that’s why we always have a lot of people from other countries studying here”, - says Lyudmila Lapina, Head of the SUSU International Cooperation Department.

Lyudmila Sergeevna also noted that this year there are many foreign graduates with red diplomas, but this is not the only achievement of the university, because SUSU provides opportunities to develop, for example, as a social activity, so many graduates are awarded in this area.

“I graduate with a degree in “Philology”. During the year, I participated in various events, I helped in their organization and I’m also an active volunteer from the Association on International Students and Graduates. Most of all, I liked and remembered communicating with foreign students from different countries, participating in interesting events and festivals. In the future, I plan to continue my master’s degree in the same specialty and I also want to work in the profession and gain experience in Russia” – shares her impressions Tillayim Shamshieva, a student from Kyrgyzstan.
