SUSU Legal Scholar Spoke as Expert at the Belt and Road Forum in Guangzhou

Elizaveta Gromova, Deputy Director for International Affairs of the SUSU Institute of Law, attended a meeting of experts from the BRICS Cooperation Committee, operating within the BRICS Arbitration Court in Guangzhou, China.

This time, members of the expert committee were invited to a forum on the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative, dedicated to investment, dispute resolution, and risk minimization for Chinese companies in international business along the Eurasian-African corridor.

Students of the Digital Ural Centre Are Prize-winners in the Hackathon on Information Security

The “Volatiles” team from the SUSU Digital Ural Centre for Training Top IT Specialists have won silver medals in a Hackathon on Information Security held as part of the “gIBChe” Conference. The contest brought together top competitors from across the Ural Federal District, and our students came off second best.

Teaching Staff of the SUSU Institute of Linguistics and International Communications Represented Chelyabinsk Region in the Finals of the “Knowledge.Lecturer” All-Russian Contest

Teaching staff members of the Department of International Relations, Political Science and Regional Studies, Doctor of Sciences (Philology) Nataliia Koshkarova and senior lecturer Maksim Dvoynenko represented the Chelyabinsk Region and South Ural State University in the finals of the “Knowledge.Lecturer” All-Russian Contest.

The contest consisted of two rounds and was held in several categories. The SUSU staff members became finalists in the “Best Teacher of the Fundamentals of the Russian Statehood Course” special category.

First-year Students of the Institute of Media, Social Sciences and Humanities Are Winners of International Interreligious Youth Forum in Moscow

First-year students from the Department of Journalism, Advertising and Public Relations of the Institute of Media, Social Sciences and Humanities, majoring in Journalism, have won a competition of socially significant student media projects at the International Interreligious Youth Forum held at the "Russia" National Centre in Moscow.

19th International Youth Cooking Festival Will Be Held Soon!

On November 28, 2025, South Ural State University invites pupils, students, and young professionals to participate in the 19th International Youth Cooking Festival.

Think with Your Heart: “17 Values of Russia” Media Forum Wraps up at SUSU

The “17 Values of Russia” two-day media forum, as part of which our university has become a platform for discussing the “Humanism” value, has wrapped up at South Ural State University. The administrative and academic staff of the "Heart of the Urals" Advanced Engineering School took training at Moscow Polytechnic University in the Control Systems program, focusing on cutting-edge technologies and research in the automotive industry. The program included research and testing of driver assistance systems, virtual testing of highly automated and self-driving vehicles, and programming of such vehicles, as well as electric vehicles.

Chelyabinsk Scientists Obtain Bioethanol from Rejected Wheat Harvest

International Recycling Day is celebrated on November 15th. Researchers from SUSU can also directly relate to this holiday since they have found a method to effectively use wheat grain sprouted in the ear. Bioethanol, obtained from such raw material at the university laboratory, after thorough distillation, can be used for technical, medical and even food-related purposes.

SUSU Students Reached Finals of StudRussia Competition

The regional round of the StudRussia All-Russian Competition for International Students took place in November. The winners advanced to the finals and will present their achievements at the national round.

The StudRussia competition aims to support talented international students with significant achievements in science, creative activities, sports, public activities, and volunteering.

Scientists Will Use AI in Offshore Wind Farms Construction

Professor of the Department of Power Stations, Grids, and Electric Power Systems of the SUSU Institute of Engineering and Technology Evgeniy Solomin has co-authored a Chinese review study on offshore wind energy generation, published in the Energies prestigious scientific journal of MDPI publishing house.

An international team of scientists proposed using artificial intelligence in calculating the topology, that is the configuration and arrangement of wind power system units.
