The 21st Interregional Specialized Exhibition “Technoexpo. Metallurgy. Mechanical Engineering. Agropromexpo”, which is held as part of the Chelyabinsk Industrial Forum, has brought together experts in the field of economics and industry: representatives of business, government authorities, financial and entrepreneurial structures, as well as scientific and educational organizations from different regions of our country.
The Festival of the Peoples of the World, in which both international students and creative teams of our city took part, was held at the Assembly Hall of South Ural State University on December 3rd.

On December 4th, the 10th International Scientific Conference “Innovations in Sport, Tourism and Education – icISTIS-2025” started at South Ural State University. The conference is traditionally organized by the SUSU Institute of Sport, Tourism and Service (ISTiS).
During the grand opening of the conference, Deputy Minister of Sports of the Chelyabinsk Region Vitaly Yakushev awarded the team of the U-phygital project for winning a grant competition by Rosmolodezh agency.

Master’s student from the SUSU Institute of Engineering and Technology Nikita Ponomarev together with scientists of the SUSU Department of Life Safety Saidzhon Tavarov and Aleksandr Sidorov, have received a patent for a hybrid system for monitoring and controlling an automatic aerosol fire extinguishing system.
Aerosol fire extinguishing systems are currently used at vehicle service stations, technical centres, and auto assembly plants. However, they are normally triggered by open flames. In such cases, fire can develop rapidly and unpredictably.
November 27, 2025 a panel discussion on "Creating a Network of Modern Campuses: Results of a Pilot Project to Develop Product Programmes" was held as part of the V Young Scientists Congress. This event united representatives of government authorities, scientific community, and higher education experts. Elena Konstantinova, an analyst from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, and Dmitriy Rozhin, First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Arkhangelsk Region acted as the moderators.

The “Volatiles” team from the SUSU Digital Ural Centre for Training Top IT Specialists have won silver medals in a Hackathon on Information Security held as part of the “gIBChe” Conference. The contest brought together top competitors from across the Ural Federal District, and our students came off second best.

Elizaveta Gromova, Deputy Director for International Affairs of the SUSU Institute of Law, attended a meeting of experts from the BRICS Cooperation Committee, operating within the BRICS Arbitration Court in Guangzhou, China.
This time, members of the expert committee were invited to a forum on the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative, dedicated to investment, dispute resolution, and risk minimization for Chinese companies in international business along the Eurasian-African corridor.

On November 24th, the results of the selection process for the Priority 2030 program were announced in Moscow. 106 universities participating in the program will receive grants for their development programs. SUSU is among these universities.

Timed to coincide with the Day of Missile Forces and Artillery, this annual all-Russian science-to-practice conference was held November 20th through 21st. This event organized at South Ural State University united the members of our country’s scientific community, that deals with development of new types of armaments, military equipment and artillery. More than eighty participants presented about sixty relevant reports over the course of two days.
The “17 Values of Russia” two-day media forum, as part of which our university has become a platform for discussing the “Humanism” value, has wrapped up at South Ural State University. The event brought together students, young media professionals, public figures, and experts, uniting them to create socially significant content.

The administrative and academic staff of the "Heart of the Urals" Advanced Engineering School took training at Moscow Polytechnic University in the Control Systems program, focusing on cutting-edge technologies and research in the automotive industry. The program included research and testing of driver assistance systems, virtual testing of highly automated and self-driving vehicles, and programming of such vehicles, as well as electric vehicles.
Vadim Erlikh, Director of the Institute of Sport, Tourism and Service (ISTIS), Doctor of Sciences (Biology) and Professor, has been named a laureate of the Russian Professorial Assembly's national award, "Professor of the Year 2025", in the Biological Sciences category. The Russian Professorial Assembly award recognizes outstanding scientific achievements in education and science.
