The World Summer Universiade finished in Italian city of Napoli. National Team Russia included seven athletes from the Chelyabinsk region, including a student of the Institute of Sport, Tourism and Service at South Ural State University, Anton Bulaev.
More than eight thousand athletes from 150 countries took part in the 30th Summer Universiade. They competed for 222 sets of awards in 18 sports.
More and more international students choose SUSU to pursue their higher education. In the 2018-2019 academic year, SUSU was home for over 2000 international students from 52 countries. Most of them are from China, Egypt, Iraq, Kazakstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan. Every year SUSU expands its geography and recruits international students from new countries. For example, this year we expect new coming students from Canada, Haiti, Mali, and Burkino Faso.
The team of executives and young researchers of SUSU keeps mastering innovative educational and managerial competencies in the course of “Island 10-22” intense educational workshop. The motto of the Island is “Thinking from the Future!” Based on this motto, new ideas get formed and the ways of their implementation get proposed. The SUSU team is fully engaged in operation of the Island and takes an active part in scientific and social experiments.
July 10th through 22nd, the team of SUSU led by the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Andrey Shmidt, is taking part in an intensive educational workshop called “Island 10 – 22”. The educational workshop is held at Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology. The main purpose of the “Island” is to form and develop teams of regional universities which will be able to bring system changes in the sphere of training of cadres for technological development into reality.

July 10 of 2019 in Yekaterinburg at the INNOPROM-2019 international industrial trade fair, rectors of the largest higher education institutions of the Urals concluded an agreement on integration and cooperation of participants of a world-class science and education centre. South Ural State University was among participants of the new educational Centre.

July 2nd through 5th, XVI European Congress of Psychology, organised by the European Federation of Psychologists' Associations and the Russian Psychological Society, was held in Russia for the first time at Lomonosov MSU (Moscow). Leading SUSU psychologists presented their reports on results of their research.
Foresight sessions arranged within the Admissions Campaign – 2019 finished at South Ural State University. An event entitled “the Start of Your Career” featuring employers – the partners of SUSU - took place at South Ural State University within the admissions campaign – 2019.

July 10th through 11th, attendees of the Summer School on Asteroid Safety were working on completion of their spacecraft. Connecting all details, installing the electronic part and preparing a presentation became the final touches before the final day.
Wednesday and Thursday passed in working over the group project. The main assignment of attendees was to finish their model of a spacecraft, namely to complete assembling the entire structure manually.

Attendees of South Ural State University’s International Summer School on Asteroid Safety are nearing the end of their work over the project of a spacecraft.
Lectures regarding inner arrangement of a spacecraft were delivered by instructors of the SUSU Institute of Engineering and Technology and the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. For example, lecture of a Candidate of Sciences (Engineering), Associate Professor Dmitry Katsay was dedicated to optical and electronic systems of a spacecraft.
Within the frameworks of fulfilling the competitiveness enhancement program, another SUSU Postdoc contest has wrapped up at South Ural State University. At round I of this year's contest, the scientific and research laboratories and departments presented 15 projects in the university's priority fields. The contest Committee admitted that the topics of all 15 scientific projects were relevant and promising.
On July 2, a delegation from Xuchang University (China) visited South Ural State University in order to discuss development and terms of cooperation on implementation of joint educational programmes of various majors, as well as coordinate curricula.
