Students and schoolchildren attending South Ural State University’s International Summer School on Asteroid Safety are actively working on the project of a spacecraft.
Over the last week, attendees of the Summer School on Asteroid Safety managed to get familiar with Quantorium Technology Park, listen to lectures and acquired practical skills during workshops.
The implementation of a system of continuing professional development for foreign language teachers is one of the key tasks of M 8.1.3 “Implementing Intensive Language Training in Bachelor’s Programmes” (project leader – Elena Yaroslavova). A group of lecturers and students of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of South Ural State University went to the Aristotle University (Thessaloniki, Greece) to the International Summer Academy of Mass Media in order to continue their study on the course entitled “Fact-checking and information verification”. In the frameworks of project-based learning, this discipline has been studied by Master’s students majoring in Journalism, who took active participation in the Eurofactcheck International journalistic project of the European Journalism Training Association.
Scientists at South Ural State University are developing an information security system for automobiles. The system will allow preventing car accidents by distributing data incoming with various streams of information by their level of importance, and avoiding unfair competition among car manufacturers.
Work at the International Summer School on Asteroid Safety is in progress at South Ural State University. The topic of the third day is the “Materials of Rocket and Space Equipment. Structure Stability”.
The program included a lecture on the Introduction to the Mechanics of Composite Materials and Structure Stability, by Candidate of Sciences (Engineering), Associate Professor of the Department of Engineering Mechanics of the SUSU Institute of Engineering and Technology Alla Scherbakova, as well as a seminar class and laboratory work.
There are 12 new Master’s studies programmes taught in English to be launched at South Ural State University starting from September of 2019. Presently, active admissions of students willing to study in English is carried out. Is SUSU’s teaching staff ready to deliver lectures and hold workshop classes in English?

In the 2018/19 academic year, students of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of the SUSU Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities did more than 300 radio broadcasts as part of their project-based education at the Radio SUSU educational studio under the guidance of their teachers. The student editors covered the most important university events, such as: Global Smart Industry Conference; the annual festival Days of Student Science; Prom-Engineering conference; Communication Leader of the 21st century international scientific and educational forum; and other events.
A meeting between Rector of South Ural State University Aleksandr Shestakov, enrolees, and their parents will be held on July 7th at 12:00. During the event, they will touch on the most important and interesting questions for students enrolling at our university in 2019.
The directors of SUSU’s schools and institutes, representatives of the Faculty of Military Education, the Scholarship and Bursary Office, and the SUSU Campus will take part in the meeting.
The second day of the International Summer School on Asteroid Safety finished at South Ural State University. On July 2, renowned scientists in the sphere of meteorite and asteroid research delivered their lectures for participants of the unique project.
Today, at South Ural State University, 8 international research laboratories are successfully functioning and are headed by the leading foreign scientists from the USA, Canada, Mexico, United Kingdom, France, Slovakia, and India.
Opening of the International Summer School on Asteroid Safety took place at South Ural State University on July 1st. Project events are targeted at knowledge and skills development in professional activity of future specialists in the sphere of aerospace engineering.
Attendees of the International Summer School are international students and high school students. Within two weeks, they are going to attend lectures of leading scientists in the sphere of meteorite and asteroid studies, visit lab and practical classes, and make excursions to research and education centres of SUSU.

Scientists of South Ural State University have developed and patented a unique method of extracting useful substances from berries and plants using ultrasound and freeze drying. Unlike the traditional technology, the new method is ten thousand times faster. It is important that the obtained extracts preserve the maximum of their beneficial properties and could be widely used in food industry.
The most important event for every graduate – the Degree Awarding Ceremony – took place at South Ural State University. About four thousand SUSU students received their document of higher education in one of Russia’s leading universities.
South Ural State University has greeted its 1000th enrolee Vladislav Ahmedyanov, who chose to enrol in three academic programmes.
As per tradition, the milestone enrolee was met by the secretary of the Admissions Committee Aleksandr Gubarev. He congratulated the young man and awarded him commemorative gifts with the university logo.
One of the key research-and-education projects of the Institute of Architecture and Construction is the project entitled “Masonry Scaffolds”. Project team is working on development of innovative scaffolds for cast-in-place frame buildings. Nowadays constructors use structures weighing no less than a ton (at that, they are difficult to get transported) or scaffolds made out of materials at hand, which are hazardous for both constructors and people around them.

June 18th through 23rd of 2019, Common State Spartakiad took place in the city of Brest (Belarus). This is a traditional competition between schoolchildren and student teams of Belarus and Russia.
