South Ural State University pays much attention to working with international students. The SUSU International Office helps them integrate into new cultural environment. To achieve that, for the second year now, the International Office together with the Association of International Students have been working on the project of student support and adaptation.
Many nutritionists believe that rye bread is superior in nutrition and balance to other foods. However, there are other opinions that the nutritional value of products produced in accordance with national standards does not correspond to modern concepts of healthy nutrition. Therefore, scientists from the South Ural State University have created and patented their Borodinsky bread recipe using chia and sesame seeds.
Scientist of the South Ural State University, together with colleagues from the Institute of General Inorganic Chemistry, Russian Academy of Sciences Kurnakova (Moscow), the Scientific and Practical Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus for Materials Science, and the Institute of Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences managed to obtain a layered multiferroic made of metal and ceramics. In the future, the material can be used for the manufacture of new generation sensors.
A group of journalists from South Ural State University visited Akakul recreation camp for children and held creativity masterclasses for kids on photo- and video-journalism, as well as on social media journalism.

Mathematicians of the South Ural State University are working to uncover the mystery of the origin of stars and galaxies by examining the physical processes of the universe. In particular, a system of equations describing the dynamics of self-gravitating gas. In collaboration with scientists of the Zababakhin Nuclear Center and Chelyabinsk State University, they managed to identify those categories of equations of state that will help expand the field of solutions and come closer to understanding the problem of the universe origin.
For over a year now, South Ural State University has been publishing articles on an international higher education portal QS WOWNEWS. In July, the portal’s editors marked the active work by our university by including SUSU in the list of winners under two categories: Top Contributor as a university, which published most of all interesting and quality articles; and Top Articles as a university, which published the most viewed article.

Scientists of South Ural State University are studying enzymes that can break down stress hormones. They are also finding a way to regulate the activity of these enzymes. It will help to cure diseases caused by stress. It is a joint research between SUSU and the Institute of Molecular Physiology and Genetics, and the Institute of Experimental Endocrinology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences (Slovakia, Bratislava). The primary results of the study were published in one of the most widespread scientific publications among stress experts the journal Stress.

Researchers from South Ural State University and colleagues from Moscow have developed a unique and ecological method of processing brine with ultrasound for meat processing companies, making it possible to ensure the high quality of meat products without the use of harmful additives. The results of the study were presented in the highly-rated journal Ultrasonics Sonochemistry, which is included in the Scopus citation database (Q1).
