For the thirteenth time, the annual science-to-practice conference "Knauf in the World’s Construction Complex" was held at South Ural State University. The event was dedicated to the 25th Anniversary of the Knauf Academy and was held online.
On December 1st, the selection round of the Zvezda (Star) Multidisciplinary Engineering Olympiad for School Students, which is being jointly organised by the Russian Engineering Union and South Ural State University since 2013, has begun in an online format. For many years now, a Laboratory of Literary Translation has been functioning at the Department of the Russian Language and Literature of the Institute of Media, Social Sciences and Humanities (IMSSH). November 26th through November 28th, the in-person stage of the All-Russian Olympiad for Students Majoring in Economic Security was held at the School of Economics and Management of South Ural State University.
The representatives of the universities of Irkutsk, Barnaul, Ufa, Kurgan, Moscow, Perm, Samara, Tyumen, Ekaterinburg, and Chelyabinsk took part in the Olympiad.

November 16th-27th, the first round of the Prometheus Olympiad on Linguistics took place at the Department of Linguistics and Translation Studies of the Institute of Linguistics and International Communications. Participation in the Olympiad has already become traditional for the first-year and second-year students of the Department of Linguistics and Translation Studies.
The Prometheus Olympiad on Linguistics is held in two rounds. The first round of the Olympiad was computer testing, in which all students registered on the Olympiad website could take part.

Nowadays, the importance of this field related to data is clear to everyone, since data not provided with sufficient security is the main goal of cybercriminals using it for personal purposes. At SUSU, the Information Security Research and Education Centre, created with the support of Kaspersky Laboratory, works on the problem of data security.
October through November, the SUSU Institute of Natural Sciences and Mathematics has held a series of online meetings with employers, the representatives of such companies as CROC, Compass Plus, FUSE8, Everypixel, as well as the Chelyabinsk Regional Centre for Navigation and Information Technologies (i-Territory), Centre for Information and Technical Maintenance, and Centre for Development of Information Technologies.
On Friday, November 27th, an online meeting was held between the Rector of South Ural State University Aleksandr Shestakov and Sherzod Mastafakulov, the Rector of University of Kokand, Uzbekistan. A new project for the university’s international students has been launched at South Ural State University. The main idea of the project is to tell about the South Ural, Chelyabinsk and the region from the point of view of international students and alumni.

The correspondence semi-final stage of the UMNIK-2020 competition, in which students of South Ural State University took part, has completed.
The UMNIK program is aimed at supporting commercially oriented scientific and technical projects of young researchers. Individuals aged 18 to 30, who are citizens of the Russian Federation and have not previously won the program, can participate in this program.
