SUSU Aerospace Engineering Faculty is getting prepared to Cosmonautics Day! The lovely holiday of the Faculty will begin with "Gagarin's Starts" which will take place on April 6 at 14.00 at SUSU Sports Palace.
This year Foreign Languages Department (E.N. Yaroslavova, Head of Department) became the organizer of the annual inter-university competition in translation among students who study the course “Translator in Sphere of Professional Communication”. Competition of 2013 possesses a status of All-Russian competition and the students from three more universities took part in it: Izhevsk State Technological University, Ural Federal University named after first President of Russia B.N. Yeltsin, Yaroslavl State University named after P.G. Demidov.
April 5 Economics and Entrepreneurship Faculty opened the contest-exhibition of photos taken by students and professors and devoted to the 70th anniversary of South Ural State University. The contest will be held in 7 nominations:
Chelyabinsk cheerleading team headed by Anastasiya Tyanyugina achieved great results and won in the official event of European Cheer League - Open Cheerleading Championship of the Republic of Belarus.
Anastasiya Tyanyugina is a graduate of Physical Education and Sports Faculty and at the present time she is the President of Cheerleading Federation of Kopeysk.
On April 8 State Duma Deputy of the Russian Federation and star of TV serial "University" actress Mariya Kozhevnikova will meet with SUSU students.
Mariya is famous for her parts in serials "University", "Kremlin Cadets", "Red Mountains", "Sklif" and feature length films "Dark World", "Exchange Wedding" and "Newlyweds". On the same day, April 8, Chelyabinsk Drama Theater named after Naum Orlov will show the performance after the same name novel of legendary Brazilian writer Paulo Coelho "Veronika Decides to Die" where Mariya plays the leading part.
On March 27-28 Russian Customs Academy (Lyubertsy, Moscow region) held the students' competition in customs affairs. The team of South Ural State University headed by Evgeny A. Stepanov, Candidate of Economics and Associate Professor of Economic Theory and Global Economics Department of Economics and Management Faculty, took part in that competition.
Personnel of Applied Biotechnology Department took part in XVI International Exhibition of food ingredients, additives and spices "Ingredients Russia" which was held in March 2013 in Moscow.
Antonina Ukhova, postgraduate of “National Economy and Management (Marketing)” (specialty No. 08.00.05), got into the final of All-Russian competition of graduation theses in marketing within the framework of Russian Marketing Week at Russian University of Economics named after Plekhanov.
Students of Trade and Economic Faculty took two winning places in the contest "Miss SUSU - 2013" at once: second place - Karina Kovrizhnykh (TEF-482) and third place - Gulnaz Nizametdinova (TEF-301).

April 1-5 South Ural State University will hold International Scientific Conference "Parallel Computational Technologies" PCT-2013. On April 3 at 10.00 J. Dongarra will take part in the conference and deliver the report on "Algorithmic and Software Challenges when Moving Towards Exascale". Mr. Dongarra is one of the most famous specialists of supercomputer sphere, author of a great number of scientific works, leader of several major projects and one of the authors of Top500 most powerful computers of the world.
On March 30 the opening ceremony of the specialized room of Labour and Social Rights Department preceded XV International Research and Practice Conference of Law Faculty "Current Issues of Law in Russia and CIS Countries" (section sessions). The opening of a specialized room (306, University building 4) was devoted to the 70th anniversary of South Ural State University, 20th anniversary of legal education in the University and 10th anniversary of Law Faculty creation.
On April 4 at South Ural State University the public seminar "Experience in major systems management" devoted to 70th anniversary of the University will be held. Viktor B. Khristenko, graduate of the University, Head of Eurasian Economic Commission and Doctor of Economic, will report at the seminar.

On March 30 on the basis of Ural State Law Academy the regional round of team All-Russian Students Law Competition of academic year 2012/2013 sponsored by Russian Lawyers Association was held.
On April 4 at South Ural State University Donor Day will continue. As there are a lot of volunteers it has been decided to prolong the social event for one more day.
The event will take place from 9.00 to 13.00 as the doctors say that the blood loss in the first half of the day is taken much easier by our body. In the parking lot near the University building "Sigma" (78B Lenin Ave.) there will be a specially equipped mobile block-module of blood transfusion station.
Veronika Shayakhmetova, second-year student of Mass Media Department, took part in the activity of All-Russian Club of Young Journalists created by Development Center of Youth Mass Media with the assistance of Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation in September 2012.
