February 15 at 19:00 in the hostel No.5 the casting for the competition "Miss University Campus 2013" will take place.
At the first stage the girls will represent themselves and answer the questions prepared by the competition organizers. Those students who pass the first stage will demonstrate to the jury their plasticity and dancing skills.
Each hostel will be represented by only one girl. The final stage of the competition will be held in SUSU Performance Hall on March 28 at 16:00!
On the threshold of Science Day Trade and Economic Faculty summed up the scientific results of year 2012. The indicator of scientific activity of the Faculty is the number of professors who got their degrees. For year 2012 at the Faculty there were 11 dissertations defended including two doctor ones.
On February 4 and 5 the meetings and events devoted to the joint Master's program of South Ural State University and Clark University took place. The presentations were held with the help of Pavel Makarov, Master who has recently completed this academic program of MSIT specialty.
Aleksandr Vladimirovich Ryazantsev, Associate Professor of Adapted Physical Education and Medicobiologic Training Department, at the Congress of World Chess Federation (FIDE) was bestowed the title "FIDE Senior Trainer" (FST). Mr. Ryazantsev trained two-time olympic chess champions, members of Russian women's national team. Also he continues his chess career and now he is among top ten strongest chess players of Russia.
In order to preserve and develop the intellectual potential of Russia and support the most promising young professors of Russain state universities the scholarships of Noncommercial Charitable Institution "Potanin Charity Fund" have been established.
The applicants of scholarship can be the professors of no older than 35 years old who have the degree of Candidate or Doctor of Science and pedagogical or scientific-pedagogical work experience at university not less than three years.

Within the framework of Winter School of Journalism the group of professors and students of SUSU Faculty of Journalism with the support of Institute of International Education program underwent two week international internship in Prague.
Within the framework of All-Russian multimedia festival of students' creativity "Stalingrad 3.0" SUSU Radio Studio is working at the creation of a students' performance based on the history of Stalingrad Battle.
The main purpose of the project created by SUSU Radio Studio is the patriotic upbringing of young radio listeners and the motivation to study the history of their Motherland.
From January 15 to 27 in Sochi the International Festival of KVN teams "KiViN-2013" was held. The students from South Ural State University showed very good results.
Following the results of "KiViN" the future of more than six hundred teams was determined. The winners gained the right to participate in the TV leagues of International KVN Union (Major, Premier and First Leagues) and the teams with higher rating were included without selection into the official leagues of that popular game.

January 22 Olga Shabalina, Associate Professor of Marketing Communications Department, International Business Coach in marketing, Candidate of Science (Philosophy), Professor of Mount St. Mary's University (Maryland) came back from the USA. During half a year Olga Ivanovna was giving a course of lectures in International Marketing and International Advertising at Mount St. Mary’s University, Maryland, USA.
