Leonid Gorovoy was born in Lomovatska village in the Voroshilov Region on March 10, 1917. In 1934 he graduated from the workers' faculty (remedial school for workers) in Donetsk, and in 1935 he enrolled in Kharkiv Electrotechnical Institute.
The war for Leonid Gorovoy began just like it did for millions of people in our country. It was an ordinary early summer Sunday. Together with his friends he was watching a play in the Voroshilovgrad theatre when an order was issued for all the military servicemen to immediately arrive in their units. The peaceful life was over.

Maria Zubkova was born on April 10, 1922 in Berlin, where her parents worked at the embassy of the USSR. In 1939, after finishing school, she entered the Department of History of Moscow Institute of Philosophy, Literature and History.
After the second year of studies, in September 1941, she was drafted into the army. She served as a medical instructor in a field hospital, and then in a medical battalion of the 376th rifle division on the Volkhov, Leningrad, and the 3rd Baltic Fronts. In 1943 she was wounded, and in May 1944 she was demobilized for disability.
A large-scale flashmob was held in Miass on the square in front of the Prometey Palace of Culture and Technology. The flashmob was organized by the State Corporation Roskosmos in honour of the main national holiday, Russia Day. The Academician V.P. Makeyev State Rocket Centre organized the event in Miass.

Students from leading Russian and foreign economic universities participated in the Olympiad. The Olympiad was organized by the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, Sberbank Insurance Broker, and MIG "Insurance Today" with the support of leading insurance companies. The jury included Russian and European experts in the field of financial security.

SUSU researchers created unique classes of high-entropic oxide compounds with magnetoplumbite and perovskite structures. In recent studies they examined the correlation of chemical composition, structural features, magnetic characteristics, and entropic state for a number of representatives of this class of compounds.
Vasily Gertsev was born in the town of Sorochinsk, Orenburg Region, on March 26, 1907. Early in 1922, when a severe famine raged in Orenburg, the Gertsevs moved to Tashkent. Vasily Gertsev began working on the construction of Turksib and studied at a railway technical school and a party school.
South Ural State University entered the publication and innovation ratings published by the journal Expert. In the 2021 version of the rankings SUSU, as a dynamically-developing university expanding the sphere of its research activities, significantly improved its position in 6 subject rankings.
The university obtained the best rankings in such fields as Materials Science, Ecology, Energy Engineering, Management, Economics, and Computer Science (see the graphics below).
The South Ural Railways inform that the Centre for Innovative Development of the Russian Railways has announced an open request for the search of innovative solutions and technologies:

The Faculty of Aerospace Engineering took part in the “Sirius. Summer: Start Your Project” program. Two projects were announced: “Designing a lander on a low-gravity field”, and “Designing a reusable ultralight launch vehicle (LV)”. Ruslan Peshkov, Associate Professor of the Department of Aircrafts, became the project manager.

Eduard Gabrin was born on November 6, 1925 in Chelyabinsk. He graduated from the Moscow Institute of Finance and Economics.
His working biography begins in the fuel injection equipment workshop of Kirov Plant (Chelyabinsk Tractor Plant). From here he volunteered to serve in the army in 1942. At the age of 17 he took the oath of allegiance.
The 2021 Russian Online Graduation Ceremony “Science in Your Heart” will be held in the Year of Science and Technology. A team of SUSU scientists have won a grant from the Russian Foundation for Basic Research for the fulfilment of a research project in the field of political and social sciences. The contest was held jointly by RFBR and the Social Research Expert Institute (EISI).

A winner of the UMNIK competition, student of the SUSU Institute of Natural Sciences and Mathematics is working on a project to create a fundamentally new catalyst that will help to produce cheap biodiesel fuel from waste food raw materials. This type of fuel can be used for cars and other vehicles with diesel engine.
Vladimir Antropov was born on April 25, 1920 at the Kochnevo station of the Novosibirsk Region. In 1937 he graduated from the Chelyabinsk school No. 1. While studying at school, he was fond of theatre and participated in performances. He was fond of literature, loved classical music, and knew the verses of many modern poets by heart. After finishing the school, he entered the Moscow Institute of Nonferrous Metals named after M.I. Kalinin. At the institute he was a Stalinist scholar, secretary of the Komsomol Committee of the faculty.
