On January 25th and 26th a regional round of RoboFest-2019 All-Russian Robotics Festival was held at South Ural State University. More than 400 kids from different cities of our region presented their robots.

In this academic year, there were several events organised for international students of South Ural State University that included active outdoor leisure.
One of the favourite activities of SUSU’s international students is snow tubing. This activity is held annually by the Sociocultural Adaptation Centre.
On January 15th a billiards tournament among international students of Chelyabinsk was held.
Billiards is a favourite game of many international students, that is why this tournament has already become a traditional sports event being organised by the SUSU Association of International Students.
On January 18, a cross-platform roundtable discussion entitled «Arkaim, the territory of understanding: on formation of historical foundation of regional ideology of cultural, national and religious unity” was held at South Ural State University. The event featured administrative staff and scientists of SUSU, CSU, Chelyabinsk State Institute of Culture and Arts, administrative staff of National Park Arkaim and Centre of Tourism Development for the Chelyabinsk region, representatives of the Public Chamber and entrepreneurs.
South Ural State University facilitates the adaptation of its international students to the conditions which are new for them. On December 26, a festive event for the foreign students, devoted to the 2019 New Year, took place in Sigma Educational Building of South Ural State University.
This academic year began creatively for the foreign students: they took part in the Matriculation Ceremony, then presented their talents at various events and at the end of the year, they participated in a contest of the New Year Performances.
Foreign students from different countries, including Egypt, Ivory Coast, Algeria, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Congo, China, Iraq, and many others attended the event.
South Ural State University has traditionally given start for the students’ sending in their suggestions on what, in their opinion, needs to first of all be done at the university to improve life in it. The most topical and important favours will be granted, and golden dreams will come true with the help of the Rector on Tatiana Day.

December 19th the enthusiasts and volunteers of a SUSU Branch were invited to a city New Year’s event called Youth Ball.
Traditionally this ball is attended by the city chief executive and the chairperson of the City Duma of Nizhnevartovsk.
In his New Year’s greetings the head of the city V.V. Tikhonov stressed that all those present at the ball are the future of the city, and urged young people to be daring, persistent and creative, not be afraid of criticism, suggest extraordinary ideas, and develop new projects.
On December 19th, at the SUSU Activity Hall, 9 teams from the School of Economics and Management fought to win the title of the best department of the School of Economics and Management. The event was held on the occasion of the 75th Anniversary of South Ural State University.
Vice-Rector for Student Affairs Vyacheslav Burmatov delivered a welcome speech for the academics, administrative staff and students of the School of Economics and Management, and the guests of the event.
The exhibition of Sergey Novikov has opened in the Yu. Teush Photo Gallery on 8th floor of SUSU’s main building in honour of 75th anniversary of the University. Sergey Novikov is a photographer from the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) who has been working with SUSU (NRU) at the invitation of a corresponding member of RAS, SUSU President German Vyatkin for almost 25 years. Over the course of this period a photo album of the University’s professors has been published in the Russian photo project.
A ceremonious event dedicated to summarizing results of extracurricular activity in 2018 took place at South Ural State University.
As per tradition, December is the month to review the results, and youth and student subdivisions are not an exception. This year, summary of results for youth audience was conducted in a new format.

On December 15 of 2018, South Ural State University is to celebrate the 75th anniversary from its foundation day. Active preparation for the celebration, which is going to take place within five days, 10th through 14th of December, is being carried out at SUSU. Celebratory event programme will include opening of new laboratories and exhibitions, as well as presentations, concerts, flash mobs, contests and more.

On December 10, opening of an exhibition entitled «SUSU - A Bridge between the Present and the Future” dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the university is to be held at the Science and Technology of the Southern Ural Exhibition Centre (room 018 of the main academic building) at 10.00. Organisers of the exhibition are the Marketing and Strategic Communications Department and the SUSU History Museum.
Foreign graduates like the Russian ones seek to maintain contacts with Alma Mater, the Russian universities and Russia as a whole. In this regard, on the initiative of International Office of SUSU and Association of Foreign Students of South Ural, the opening of Association of Foreign Graduates of SUSU will take place on December 13.
The main task of Association of Graduates is the formation of a corporate philosophy and a system of values of the university graduates. Every foreign student who has graduated from South Ural State University can become a member.
