Long holidays are over and it is time to get back to studying. How can you help yourself get into a business-like mood and what you should reject in the first days after the holidays?
Post-holiday syndrome usually lasts 7-10 days. The blues after the holidays and long weekends can be accompanied by symptoms of anxiety: insomnia, loss of strength, irritability, difficulty in concentrating, depression, sadness and melancholy. And we have prepared some tips for you.
1. Take your time. Provide yourself with at least a week for adaptation. You need to brace yourself as you will face certain difficulties. It is hard to get up in the morning and to maintain your strength by the evening. You should not demand great results from yourself, it is important to enter the regime gradually.
2. Prepare beforehand. Going to the university in the morning completely unprepared is a difficult challenge. Therefore, select nice clothes in the evening, prepare breakfast, and collect all the necessary notes. This will help you mentally prepare yourself, and in the morning you will be able to start the day productively without rushing and having unpleasant surprises.
3. Eat consciously. After holidays filled with hearty food, it is important to restore the nutrition regime, so do not skip lunch and limit your consumption of sweets. This will allow you to faster adapt to the routine.
4. Walk to the university on foot. This advice does not suit everyone, but if you live nearby, then a morning walk will help you wake up completely, and the winter air will invigorate you. To do this, you will have to get up half an hour earlier, but you will definitely get a charge of energy for the whole day.
5. Think positively. Educational process may seem like torture if you set yourself up like this. Treat the beginning of everyday life at the university with a positive attitude, tell yourself that you really want this, and studying will be easier and more enjoyable. Buy yourself something new: a diary, your favourite stationery, or even a new outfit, and you will want to go to the university right away.
Feeling blue after a long weekend is absolutely fine. The main thing is to help yourself recover in time.
