First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov, together with Governor Alexey Texler, have visited the Industrial Robotics Centre of South Ural State University.
The unique Industrial Robotics Centre was created jointly with the Robot Plant (PAO ChKPZ) at the Faculty of Mechatronics and Robotics of South Ural State University and will be scaled up into several production facilities. The centre is the only platform in Russia where science and production are integrated. As a result, customer enterprises can receive ready-made robotic complexes on a turnkey basis. Such robotic industrial lines have already been implemented at ChKPZ.
Rector of South Ural State University Alexander Wagner introduced the VIP guests to a unique scientific and educational project that the university is implementing with an industrial partner, demonstrated the first visual results of cooperation and spoke about forthcoming plans.
"The Industrial Robotics Centre is of great value not only for the university and the enterprises of the ChKPZ group, but also for the entire Chelyabinsk Region," noted Alexander Wagner. "A unique platform has been created for the integration of robotic complexes, which will solve educational problems (training personnel for robotic enterprises) and fulfil orders from the Ural industry for the integration of ChKPZ robots into the technological processes of various industries."
The founder of the Robot Plant and CEO of ChKPZ Andrey Gartung demonstrated to the First Deputy Prime Minister the capabilities of the centre, including the RusRobot 6-axis industrial robotic manipulators with a load capacity of up to 120 kg and up to 60 kg, created using government support measures, as well as Russian gearboxes for robotic manipulators of domestic design, the serial production of which begins in April of this year.
During the presentation, the recently created "Yuzhnouralskaya" special economic zone was discussed, on the site of which it is planned to build five new highly robotic plants for manufacturing of complex mechanical engineering products. In particular, with the participation of ChKPZ and the Robot Plant, the construction of the first so-called "dark" workshops in Russia is being developed, which do not require human participation for their work, using Russian robots, domestic unmanned transport and advanced Russian IT solutions. Andrey Gartung also presented the projects for these productions to the First Deputy Prime Minister.
Denis Manturov instructed the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia and the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia to support the submitted projects, as well as the further development of scientific, industrial and educational cooperation in the field of robotics in the Chelyabinsk Region. Let us recall that within the framework of the implementation of the "Means of Production and Automation" national project by 2030 the Russian Federation should take 25th place in the world in terms of robotization density.
Alexey Texler emphasized that the Chelyabinsk Region has been developing new competencies for several years, including the introduction of industrial robotics, in order to implement the tasks set by the President of Russia:
"We are the leading region in our country in developing competencies in industrial robotics. We have a Robot Plant specializing in serial production and assembly of industrial robotic manipulators. Jointly with the leading university in our region, it trains integrators and specialists in robot production. Corresponding areas are also opening at the premises of vocational education institutions, engineering and other schools (engineering classes)."
The Governor summarized that a unique innovative ecosystem is being actively developed in our region. All its components complement each other to achieve the goals of our country's technological sovereignty:
– more than 50 ChKPZ engineering classes have been organized in our region's schools, where children are introduced to new technologies, and an interest in engineering specialties is instilled in them;
– Faculty of Mechatronics and Robotics was opened at SUSU jointly with ChKPZ, competencies in the development and integration of robotic systems are being developed;
– there is a vocational education institution for training working professionals, from where you can immediately enter the 3rd year of the Faculty of Mechatronics and Robotics;
– in 2024, the first serial production of industrial robotic manipulators in Russia was created;
– Government of the Chelyabinsk Region created ANO "Industrial Robotics Centre", where industrial enterprises can receive the services and consultations necessary for the accelerated implementation of robotics, including Russian industrial robots.
