On the occasion of March 8, we would like to tell you about a girl who is a striking example of how beauty and strength can be harmoniously combined in one fragile girl. Amina Akhmadulina is a student of the SUSU Institute of Law, preparing to defend her diploma with honours and is a two-time world champion in an unusual sport, chessboxing.
Chessboxing combines both chess and boxing. The competition is organised in alternating rounds: participants first play chess, then get in the ring, and this repeats for several rounds. Victory can be achieved either by knockout in the ring or by checkmate on the board.
Amina started playing chessboxing when she was already a student and quickly conquered this unusual sport. At international competitions, she successfully represents our country, demonstrating the ability to compete with the best athletes in the world.
“I have always been a strong girl, sports came easy to me. I played volleyball, did track-and-field athletics, though not at a professional level, of course,” shared her memories Amina.
Last year, Amina met with the President of Russia, introducing him to her unusual sport and encouraging factories to participate in the development of student sports.
Amina’s path in sports and studies is a story about how determination and hard work help achieve the highest goals. Amina not only successfully combines sports and studying, but also finds time to participate in television projects, such as the Bogatyr Games show. Recently, the TV channel’s producers has contacted her. They have offered to take part in a new show with a competition of athletes from all over Russia. Amina has not refused the new experience. The premiere of the first episode will air on March 9th.
Now Amina is completing her fifth year of studies and will soon receive the long-awaited diploma with honours. However, she is facing a new challenge: to decide what to dedicate her life to. The girl simultaneously works in her future speciality, does sports, trains children herself, and after participating in the show, she realized that she wants to become a blogger, too.
“I am at crossroads now, of course. Either to be a lawyer, or to connect my life with chessboxing. It’s so difficult. But I think I can handle it,” said Amina.
Amina Akhmadulina shows by her example that there are no barriers for those who persistently go towards their goal. Her story inspires everyone who believes in themselves despite obstacles.
