A meeting on the development of student sports, namely golf and sailing, was held at South Ural State University. The event brought together students to learn more about these sports, as well as about the possibilities for their development within the walls of the university.
The guests were true professionals in their field:
-
Ekaterina Ketler, Executive Director of the Golf Federation for the Chelyabinsk Region, alumnus of the SUSU Institute of Sport, Tourism and Service;
-
Ekaterina Ponomareva, prize-winner of international student contests, winner of the 2024 Forenergo Tournament in Chelyabinsk and coach of the South Ural Golf Club. She is a multiple prize-winner of the Sverdlovsk and Chelyabinsk regions among juniors and students. She is now studying at the SUSU Institute of Sport, Tourism and Service;
-
Evgenia Leonova, Candidate Master of Sports, multiple winner and prize-winner of the all-Russian sailing contests, member of the Russian National Team from 2020 to 2021, student of the SUSU Institute of Architecture and Construction.
In the process of discussion, ideas for creating student golf and sailing teams at SUSU, as well as ways to promote these sports among students, were considered. The meeting participants emphasized the importance of involving students in sports and offered various employment options for those who choose these areas.
“I have always dreamt of engaging in something extraordinary, and meeting with representatives of golf and sailing sports inspired me. Both sports require not only physical fitness, but also strategy. I am sure that participation in a student team will help me not only develop sports skills, but also make new acquaintances,” one of the students shared his impressions.
Students who did not attend the meeting but are interested in becoming part of the golf or sailing teams, can submit their applications. Do not miss the opportunity of becoming part of the team! You can fill out the application here.
