Deep Vision Dance Theatre, under the leadership of Ekaterina Galanova, took part in the “8th National Award” Closed Project in the field of modern choreography, “Choreographer Sergey Smirnov Prize”, in Sochi February 2nd through February 5th.
Our dance theatre became a 1st degree certificate winner with the “Scarecrow” performance and a 2nd degree laureate with the “Along and Across” and “A Quarter to Four” numbers.
Team members shared their impressions of the trip.
Polina Mukhamadeeva (student of the Institute of Media, Social Sciences and Humanities):
“I am very satisfied with the trip. It was an interesting festival where we could see the works by other teams from all over our country, communicate with the jury and participants, and also share our creativity.”
Andrey Gribkov (student of the Institute of Engineering and Technology):
“The Smirnov dance award is one of those contest festivals in which our team has been participating more than once, consistently winning prizes. Each time it is a meeting with familiar groups and getting to know new ones. We are glad to be part of this community. This time the trip has been emotional, difficult and productive, which I am very happy about. The time and effort spent on preparation paid off in spades. The numbers and fragments of the performances we watched were breathtaking. And even though this time we have not been able to take the Grand Prix and win everything, this gives us a reason and motivation to return there again for new victories!”
In addition to the general awards, the head of the studio was awarded a special certificate for originality and research in plastic theatre
