South Ural State University has celebrated its 81st anniversary. Marking this event, the Chelyabinsk State Philharmonic Hall prepared a gift: a “Bird of Happiness” symphonic music concert by the Ural Brass Orchestra and soloists of the Philharmonic Hall.
In celebration of the SUSU birthday, a concert by the Ural Brass Orchestra of the Chelyabinsk State Philharmonic Hall was held. The Rector of our university, Alexander Wagner, congratulated students and staff members:
“My congratulations to everyone on the birthday of SUSU! Our university is developing very actively and participates in the most important strategic programs set forth by the Government of the Russian Federation for the development of science and education. We have plenty of things to be proud of. I want to thank each student and staff member, because we have all these achievements thanks to you. The key to the high efficiency of our university is the potential of teachers and researchers who work here to make the world a better place. Thank you very much to each of you, and happy anniversary! And the result of the university’s work can be seen through our alumni. They run businesses, work in the government and for the benefit of our Fatherland. We are proud of them.”
Alumni also came to congratulate their alma mater. The Deputy Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region addressed the students and staff members with congratulations. Stanislav Mosharov gave a welcome speech at the concert of the state philharmonic:
“I am always proud to say that I am a SUSU alumnus. Within the walls of the university, I remember with joy my teachers and friends, the Rector German Vyatkin. People who know how to teach, can instil a love for science and explain how to overcome difficulties of life, work here. Many thanks to all the teachers! I wish everyone to stay positive and have confidence in the future!”
Bright and touching performance transferred listeners to the world of romance, nostalgia and real feelings! The main wish of SUSU for the birthday was the song “Bird of Happiness”.
“Dear colleagues, happy birthday! For almost all of you, SUSU is a second home, so today we have gathered here to celebrate our common birthday. Our university has always met the demands of the times, and now we are faced with the task of becoming University 3.0. This means the best education, the best science and innovative activity, giving technological superiority to our country. We will succeed, because we know how to work. I want to wish you good health, a good day and further success!” congratulated everyone SUSU President Aleksandr Shestakov.
Many famous compositions were performed at the concert, for example, the melody from the Three Poplars in Plyushchikha film, the touching song Tenderness and rock hits of the popular Queen band. Honoured Artist of Russia Igor Yezhov was at the conductor’s stand. Together with the musicians, the entire audience sang such famous compositions as Hope by Alexandra Pakhmutova, I am Free by Valery Kipelov, and That’s All by Yuri Shevchuk.
The Ural Brass Band was created in March 2011. Currently, it is the only professional brass band in the South Ural region and can rightfully be considered an exemplary band in its genre. It is distinguished by high technical skill, coherence, mastery of all the achievements of modern brass music and the desire for new creative achievements.
