Professions Guide Day: SUSU Applicants Learn about the University's Trending Programmes

On December 7th, an interactive Open House Day for applicants — Professions Guide Day was held at South Ural State University. The Institute of Law, School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science, and Institute of Sport, Tourism and Service took part in this event, along with the Multidiscipline College and the Chelyabinsk Forge-and-Press Plant's Engineering and Technology subdivision of the Multidiscipline College.

The guests could learn about the possibilities of obtaining quality education and about the latest researchers' developments and their practical application in the form of talks with the teaching staff and directors of the above-mentioned college, school and institute, as well as in an interactive mode: games (web applications) with artificial intelligence, master classes, escape room games, quiz games, and much more, what the SUSU students and teachers were ready to share with the visiting school pupils, secondary vocational education students and their parents.

"This is a new format of such event for our university. We want to introduce applicants to our student councils, university students and teachers in an informal atmosphere," shared specialist on working with young people of the Office for Strategic Work with Applicants Ivan Lutokhin.

As part of the Professions Guide Day, applicants learned a lot more about the specifics of the work of our university students and teachers on artificial intelligence and immersed themselves in the world of radio electronics and robotics, which are the key fields of study at the School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science.

"Today, applicants are facing a difficult task: among the numerous programmes being offered by universities, find the one they are truly interested in. To make this process easier, our university holds the Open House Day events in various formats, so that applicants and their parents could communicate with representatives of the Student Council, learn more about the available academic programmes, and understand what kind of knowledge they will gain if they choose our university. This is a unique opportunity for the future students to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of student life," noted Vasilii Spitsyn, Deputy Director for Extracurricular and Discipline Activities of the SUSU School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science.

At the Institute of Sport, Tourism and Service, school pupils tried their hand in different professions, took part in prize giveaway and fascinating quiz games. In the course of the event applicants also learned about the activity of the Multidiscipline College and the Chelyabinsk Forge-and-Press Plant's Engineering and Technology subdivision of the Multidiscipline College.

"This event's format differs from a common Open House Day. Here, you can not only communicate, but also engage in physical activities, take a look at how others work, and even make something in a do-it-yourself format. We are planning on continuing to organize such events for applicants. Next time, we will prepare even more interesting interactive activities for them," shared Director of the SUSU Institute of Sport, Tourism and Service Vadim Erlikh.

The future lawyers learned about the professions of forensic scientist and expert, visited an electronic shooting gallery, and talked to the best students of the Institute of Law.

Right after the new year begins, meetings with other schools and institutes await the applicants of South Ural State University. Follow the news on the official website and VK group SUSU APPLICANT.
