A student from group ЛМ-351 of the Institute of Linguistics and Intercultural Communications (ILIC), Dariia Nikulina, took part in the Tochka.Online Media Academy project.
The Tochka.Online Media Academy is an initiative for online training for young PR specialists working in government organizations of the Russian Federation, student media centres, as well as for schoolchildren and young teachers aged 14 to 35.
From September through November of 2024, three online advanced training courses were offered. As a result of the work on the courses, the Media Academy TOP 100 in-person educational seminar was organized for the best participants. The course was held from November 10th to 13th. Dariia successfully fulfilled all the requirements of the program and became a participant in the in-person block, meeting all the selection criteria.
The main goal of the Media Academy is to improve the skills of young PR specialists working in government agencies, student media centres, as well as among schoolchildren and young teachers.
We asked Dariia to share her impressions and personal motivation to fulfil all the conditions of the program. Here is what she said:
"The forum was held in the cultural capital of Russia – St. Petersburg. Participation in the in-person stage allowed me to consolidate the knowledge gained in the online format and meet the leading PR managers of our country, professionals who are 100% versed in media. Unfortunately, this was the last stage of the "Gathering Point. Media Cluster", but there are still many interesting projects ahead that are worth following in their official group. At the moment, I have three certificates of additional education, which I received during the training at the first stage. For me, as a future political scientist, it is extremely important to be aware of trends in media and PR management, because it is through these tools that it will be possible to promote candidates and form political strategies. In addition, here I can deepen my knowledge in the field of promotion, which will help me become a real professional. To become a participant in the program next year, you need to get into the TOP-100 throughout Russia and pass the tests that are offered after each course, with a result above 95 points. The competition is high, but it is important not to give up. If you really want something, put in maximum effort and your goal will be achieved!”
