Future Starts Here: Open House Day Held at SUSU

South Ural State University announces the start of Admissions Campaign 2025. On November 10th the first in this academic year Open House Day was held at our university for applicants and their parents.

In the hall on the 2nd floor of the main university building, guys were welcomed by representatives of the leading employers from Chelyabinsk, including PG KONAR, PAO Rosseti Ural, Chelyabinsk Pipe-Rolling Plant, PAO Mechel, and GK LD. They introduced their companies and shared on the advantages their employees will have.

Next, in the Assembly Hall, the Head of the Office for Strategic Work with Applicants Iuliia Bolotina talked about the changes in the admissions regulations and drew attention of the participants to the minimal scores in the Unified State Examination and the documents required for the submission to the university (passport, SNILS (Individual Insurance Account Number), school completion certificate/diploma, documents confirming special rights and individual achievements).

“Today we have introduced our university to the future students, talked about the changes expected in the admissions regulations, and shared on how, by following the recommended algorithm for successful enrolment, you can become a student and study in state-funded programs. The most important thing for the kids now is to examine the market demands, assess your own possibilities, wishes and motivation against them, and make your selection of the most attractive enterprises (university partners), which will provide their support to you starting from the first days of study, and in time will hire you and accept you as professionals capable of ensuring the development of the enterprise and our region in general!” said Iuliia Bolotina.

SUSU is well known for its successful alumni, who hold high positions and serve for the welfare of our region and our country. Among such people is deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Chelyabinsk Region, Chairman of the Regional Subdivision of “Opora Russia” All-Russian Non-Governmental Organization of Small and Medium Business Dmitry Kleutin. He shared with the guys on his student years and gave important pieces of advice that will come in handy when choosing a university:

“I enrolled in SUSU 24 years ago, and I must say that those 5 years of study were very active and flew by very quickly. Student years is a whole big life, which every person will remember forever. I didn’t regret my choice of the university event for second. Teaching staff are very strong here, as well as the applied sciences, and this is what distinguishes SUSU from other universities in our region. Pay special attention to this important step in your life, examine the market, learn which specialities are most popular today, so that when you graduate, you could be in-demand specialists.”

Also, a representative of the Military Training Centre of South Ural State University talked to school kids and their parents and shared who can go into military service and which military speciality it is possible to obtain. The availability of training at a military training centre is a very important advantage when choosing a university. Every young man enrolling in SUSU, regardless of the academic programme, contract-based or state-funded form of study, has a right to obtain a military speciality and the military service record card upon the completion of our university.

“This year, our Military Training Centre celebrates its 80th anniversary. Over this period of time, we have taken an eventful path and currently we are the biggest centre in our country. Young men, who have graduated from a university and undergone training at a military training centre are included in the reserve of the armed forces and are not called in for the military service. Our graduates, if they wish so, have an opportunity to devote their life to serving their Fatherland, or get a contract-based job in law enforcement agencies in Russia,” noted Deputy Head of the SUSU Military Training Centre, colonel Konstantin Krikunov.

After that, kids went to meetings with directors of the SUSU schools and institutes, where they could in detail learn about the academic programmes, meet teachers and get answers to all their questions of interest.

The next Open House Day will be held at South Ural State University on January 19th at 12:00. We are looking forward to see you here!
