SUSU and “Magnezit” will open a new department

Rector of SUSU Alexander Wagner took part in the meeting of the Board of the Union Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, which was in Satka. In the frameworks of the event, University has concluded a number of agreements with the “Magnezit” group.

Board of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs was devoted to discussion about the situation in the economic sphere of the region. Chelyabinsk region entered the top-10 of the investment climate rating. For last five years in the region a number of new and sought-after large-scale productions appeared.

The governor of the region Aleksey Teksler outlined several important tasks:

“It is necessary to pay more attention to training personnel, formation of laboratories of the future interuniversity campus and to continue the realization of the project “Professionalitet”, - reported the head of the region.

After the meeting rector of the South Ural State University Alexander Wagner and the general director of the “Magnezit” group Sergey Odegov signed two agreements to establish a training department for the refractories sphere based on the University and to establish laboratories of the enterprise based on interuniversity campus.

“The University and the group of companies “Magnezit” implement its own laboratories to the campus, which will allow to train those personnel in the future, who will satisfy the refractories sphere”, - noted Alexander Wagner.

It is worth to note that South Ural State University widens its partnerships actively. September 1, in the University together with “KONAR” the new faculty “Mechanical Engineering and Technology” will open, which includes some unique for Russia and the region educational programs: “System Engineering of Metallurgical Technologies”, “Robotics and Engineering of Welding Production”, “Automation and Engineering of Metal Forming”, “Mechanical Engineering Technologies” and “Metal Science, Heat Treatment and Physical Chemistry of Materials”.

Moreover, it is planned to launch a faculty “Mechatronics and Robotics” in the University and polytechnic department in a college in collaboration with the Chelyabinsk Forge-and-Press Plant. In the frameworks of the faculty, students will learn educational programs in relevant areas: automotive, energy, aerospace, mechanical engineering, materials science and technology. The college department will train specialists in blue-collar jobs in demand at the enterprises of the Chelyabinsk Forge-and-Press Plant group and, above all, at the Russian Robot Plant.
