On May 2nd, a Table Tennis Championship was held for international students at the Sports Palace of South Ural State University.
Among the championship participants were 20 students from various countries from around the world: Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, China, Pakistan, Iran, India, Arab countries, African countries, and other countries as well.
"Today we are holding a Table Tennis Championship for international students of SUSU. Our goal is to help students learn more about the Russian culture and adapt to life in our city. The main thing for us is the strengthening of the international friendship," said president of the South Ural Association of International Students and Alumni Farrukhzhon Nurboev.
According to the championship results, students from China became the winners: the 1st place was awarded to Jiang Wenmin, the 2nd place to Li Genxiang, and the 3rd place to Zhu Xudong. Students received souvenirs, medals and certificates of merit.
"Back at school I played table tennis, so I have decided to try my hand in it once again. It's been 5 years already since the last time I played. At such events, it's also very important for me to gain new experience and meet interesting people," shared Temur Khalilov.
The championship was held in a newly refurbished table tennis hall, which is located at the premises of the SUSU Institute of Sport, Tourism and Service.
