The final round of the “EngineerBasket” project, a “3x3” game format for the cup of OOO “TMK ETERNO”, took place at the Sports Palace of South Ural State University (National Research University) on April 20th.
The “EngineerBasket” career guidance project for school pupils and students of the Chelyabinsk Region, who are planning to become engineers in the future, was created by the Centre for Advanced Professional Training of the Chelyabinsk Region, jointly with OOO “TMK ETERNO” and the Chelbasket basketball club.
“The Centre for Advanced Professional Training expresses appreciation to organizers and participants of the “EngineerBasket” project. It can be rightfully considered a unique career guidance practice that combines education, sports and a dream job. We believe that “EngineerBasket” will become a good tradition for our centre. Building an individual educational trajectory and career guidance work are our strategic tasks, for the solution of which we are opening new formats and involving the strongest partners,” noted Anna Bukhtoyarova, Head of the Centre for Advanced Professional Training of the Chelyabinsk Region.
Students of engineering specialties of South Ural State University, school pupils of engineering classes and programs of Academic Lyceum No. 95 and Lyceum No. 142, engineering students of South Ural State Technical College, as well as representatives of engineering specialties of OOO “TMK ETERNO” participated in the project.
Our team competed with the Chelbasket team. Despite losing, the guys enjoyed the game and admitted that it was a valuable experience for them.
“It was interesting to meet professional players, test our strength and learn something from them. I thought it would be much more difficult to play since we are more of an amateur team, but in fact it was interesting, we tried to do our best. Although we didn’t win, we received a lot of positive emotions,” SUSU team player Ilya Toshchev shared his impressions.
The “EngineerBasket” project is aimed at strengthening the connection between school pupils, students and professionals in the field of engineering. In a game format, participants could get to know each other, learn information about interesting directions, and also master the techniques of basketball with the leading players of the Chelbasket basketball club.
