On January 21st, future applicants and their parents were able to get to know the schools and institutes of our university better, and also learned about the new admission rules for 2024.
The event began with a "STARt with SUSU" flash mob, where applicants learned about student associations and chose the most interesting areas of extracurricular activities for themselves. The applicants took part in various competitions and fun games, and showed themselves in a dance marathon. All this, including memorable gifts and prizes, was prepared by representatives of SUSU student associations.
Later, in the Assembly Hall of the main university building, the Head of the Office for Strategic Work with Applicants Yulia Bolotina awarded schoolchildren for participating in the New Year’s engineering competition and told applicants and their parents about the new admission rules, the number of state-funded places and other important aspects of admission.
"The work of university admissions committees will begin across the country on June 20th. From this day the acceptance of documents for participation in the competition for state-funded places starts. Applicants entering the university in 2024 do not fall under the "Federal Admissions Campaign" project, which means that students can, as before, apply to 5 universities for 5 majors in each. Moreover, it is important to note that applicants must pass the Unified State Examination subjects in these areas," said Yulia Bolotina.
It is important for applicants and their parents to pay attention to the following dates:
June 20th – the beginning of accepting applications for all categories of applicants.
July 9th – deadline for accepting applications for applicants who undergo additional entrance tests of a creative and (or) professional orientation.
July 20th – deadline for accepting applications for applicants who pass entrance tests conducted by the organization independently.
July 25th – deadline for accepting applications for applicants who do not pass entrance tests conducted by the organization independently.
Answers to questions about the schedule for priority enrolment admission were also announced. This category includes persons entering without entrance examinations, within the framework of a special quota, a separate or targeted quota:
The priority enrolment stage will take place July 28th through July 30th.
July 28th – completion of acceptance of the original education document of the established form.
July 29th to 30th – publication of enrolment orders.
The main enrolment stage will take place August 3rd to August 9th:
August 3rd – completion of acceptance of the original education document of the established form.
August 4th–9th – publication of enrolment orders.
For those applying for contract training, it is important to remember the following dates:
June 20th – start of accepting applications.
August 20th – closing date for accepting applications for all forms of study.
Enrolment orders will be issued by August 30th.
In the event that there are still vacant places at the university, additional enrolment will be carried out, the dates of which can be found on the official website of the university.
The methods of submitting documents to universities have remained unchanged. You can also visit the university admissions office in person, submit documents on the university website, via Gosuslugi (State Services) portal, or by postal services. Required documents: passport, SNILS, certificate/diploma and documents confirming the existence of special rights and documents confirming the individual achievements of the applicant.
"At South Ural State University, 10 additional points are provided to take into account individual achievements of an applicant, including sports achievements, a certificate/diploma of education, participation and victories in Olympiads, competitions and other events included in the list of the Russian Council of Olympiads for School Pupils and the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation," noted Yulia Bolotina.
For admission to the university in 2024, the Unified State Examination results of 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 are valid. It is important that the Russian language is compulsory in all Russian universities in all areas, followed by a specialized subject, and the 3rd exam, which is required for admission, is an alternative one.
If in at least 1 subject with which an applicant is admitted, the score is lower than that declared by the university, then the applicant has no right to enrol in either a state-funded or contract form of education in the current year. At the same time, at our university, representatives of the admissions committee will help you choose a suitable field of study with the available list of Unified State Exam subjects where you scored the minimum points.
"SUSU is a university that is one of the leaders in training engineers and specialists in information technology. Most recently, our university has opened the Heart of the Urals Advanced Engineering School aimed at training the next generation of engineering personnel in design and engineering of special transport, engine building and automation. Every SUSU student has the opportunity to gain new engineering competencies and advanced training.
As part of the Open House Day, applicants attended meetings with directors of schools and institutes, with heads and teachers of SUSU departments, where educational programs and study opportunities at the university were discussed.
Before the start of the 2024 admissions campaign, applicants and their parents will have a chance to attend several more Open House Days at our university, the dates of which we will announce on the official website and on the university’s social networks.
