A ceremonial event has been held at South Ural State University to award international students and members of the academic staff for their successes in studies, science and active extracurricular activities. The event marks the 80th anniversary of our university.
The SUSU Deputy Vice-Rector for Education Andrey Kocherov congratulated everyone present on the 80th anniversary of our university and noted that the success of international students and academic staff is one of the important indicators of the quality of education and the prestige of SUSU at the international level.
“Dear students and colleagues! I am glad to welcome you here on these significant days of celebrating the 80th anniversary of South Ural State University. We are very happy about the fact that international citizens study here. Now we have about 2000 international students from 56 countries. Your participation in today’s event indicates that you have achieved a lot in studies, sports, science, and education. Therefore, let me congratulate you and wish you all the best: develop, flourish and be happy.”
In the course of the awards ceremony, international students and members of the academic staff from different countries, including China, India, Egypt, Zimbabwe and Kazakhstan, were awarded. All of them demonstrated outstanding achievements in their studies, scientific activities, and also actively participated in the life of our university, helping to create an atmosphere of solid international collaboration.

Today we are celebrating achievements in international activities, organizing a celebration for ourselves and for the guests of our university. Today we have gathered the best international students and members of the academic staff, according to the university schools and institutes, in order to celebrate your successes. Each of your achievements is a piece of SUSU’s success, and therefore I congratulate you all on the anniversary of our university and wish you all the best, to achieve more, strive for the best and be the best version of yourself,” congratulated the guests of the event Liudmila Lapina, Head of the SUSU International Office.
The ceremonial event became a bright example of how South Ural State University supports international students and staff members and also helps them fulfil their potential. This event also highlights the importance of international collaboration in the field of education and creating favourable conditions for the exchange of experience and knowledge among students from different countries.
All international students and members of the academic staff of our university were awarded certificates of appreciation and memorable gifts with the university anniversary logos.
