The 2023 Global Smart Industry Conference (GloSIC’2023) will be held at South Ural State University, in Chelyabinsk, November 21 through November 23. The forum participants will discuss current aspects of the smart industry.
GloSIC’2023 Conference has already become a tradition. It will be chaired by the President of SUSU, Doctor of Sciences (Engineering), Professor Aleksandr Shestakov. He is also the president of the International Research and Engineering Society of Instrument Engineers and Metrologists and a member (and the only representative of Russia) of the General Council of the International Confederation IMEKO.
The conference is aimed at determining the prospects for the development of Smart Industry technologies, integration of industrial companies, scientific organizations and authorities to create promising technologies for the digital transformation of the industry.
The forum program includes the exchange of experience, discussion and presentation of scientific works, summarizing the results of the development of innovative models, methods and technologies for the digital industry at universities, scientific and industrial associations of the Russian Federation and abroad, as well as the implementation of developments in large transnational and Russian industrial companies.
According to the conference chairman, information and communication technologies ushered in the era of Industry 4.0 and the industry has changed significantly over the past decade. Among its key elements are the Internet of things, digital twins, and cyber-physical systems. Machines and mechanisms are equipped with a variety of wireless sensors that generate big data on production processes. Through the Internet, machines and mechanisms interact with computers that collect, transmit and quickly analyse huge amounts of information. As a result, right products are delivered to the right customers at the right time.
“In order to stay competitive, it is important for researchers, practitioners and business representatives to quickly implement advanced smart industry technologies and respond to changes in the requirements of people and markets,” says Aleksandr Shestakov. “GloSIC’2023 contributes to this. We provide a platform to showcase results as well as explore innovative Smart Industry techniques and tools.”
Condition Monitoring and Control of Intelligent Manufacturing, Industrial Robotics, and Cyber Security in the Digital Industry are among the numerous topics announced by the conference participants.
The 2023 Global Smart Industry Conference (GloSIC’2023) is organized at SUSU with the support of the V.A. Trapeznikov Institute of Control Sciences of Russian Academy of Sciences, D. I. Mendeleev Institute for Metrology, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, Magnitogorsk Iron & Steel Works, PG Metran and the International Research and Engineering Society of Instrument Engineers and Metrologists.
