A ceremony for awarding the regional and federal state prizes to South Ural residents with certain achievements was held at the residence of the Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region on October 27th. The Head of the Department of Architecture of South Ural State University Salavat Shabiev was among the awardees. He was awarded the honorary title of Honoured Worker of Higher Education of the Russian Federation.
Salavat Shabiev is a member of the Union of Architects of Russia, a corresponding member of the Eastern Countries International Academy of Architecture, an adviser to the Russian Academy of Architecture and Construction Sciences, a member of the Public Chamber of Chelyabinsk, and the founder of the South Ural Regional School of Architecture. He is actively involved in the development of academic relations with our country’s leading architectural universities and international architectural schools. Also, Salavat Shabiev took internships at universities of Australia, Canada, China and other countries. In order to expand inter-university collaborations, he participated in concluding an agreement on scientific and creative collaboration with the Shanghai Society of Landscape Architects, China, established academic contacts with Belarusian National Technical University, Kazakh State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering, Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University, and other organisations.
Salavat Shabiev worked as the chief architect on the project for the reconstruction of the SUSU main university building. In total, over than 70 projects, with more than 20 implemented, were developed for the university under his leadership.
