A presentation of supplementary academic programmes in non-IT areas of professional retraining for university students was held in the Assembly Hall of South Ural State University on September 6th.
Digital Departments is a joint project of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and the Ministry of Digital Development, Telecommunications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation aimed at developing the competencies necessary to perform a new type of professional activity, acquiring a new qualification in information technology.
"This is a great opportunity for those who wish to become self-employed and have freedom of choice in their professional life. Besides, working in the IT industry offers many benefits, including fast career progress. The project involves 4 steps: registration, entrance, intermediate and exit testing, as well as defence of final projects," said Marina Potapova, Head of the Digital Department, Doctor of Sciences (Pedagogy), Professor, SUSU Vice-Rector for Education.
Bachelor's degree students of at least 2nd year of study, Specialist's degree students of at least 3rd year of study, and Master's degree students not majoring in IT, studying full-time (or attending evening classes) at the expense of budgetary funds or under contracts for rendering paid educational services, can apply for registration for 13 programmes of the Digital Department project. The training will last for 9 months.
"A particular advantage for students will be that most of the practical training will be conducted by representatives of companies associated with the IT industry. It is also a great opportunity to meet like-minded people and learn about new opportunities in this area," said Marina Potapova.
The Digital Departments project is being implemented as part of the Development of the Human Resources Potential in the IT Industry federal project of the Digital Economy of the Russian Federation national program.
