Today, on August 31st, on the eve of the Knowledge Day, the Matriculation Ceremony 2023 has been held for the students of South Ural State University.
This is a traditional event for South Ural State University, but this time there is a peculiarity to it – a new festival-like format. The celebration is dedicated to the 80th Anniversary of our university.
The Rector of South Ural State University Alexander Wagner delivered a welcoming speech:
"Dear first-year students, I sincerely congratulate you on enrolling in South Ural State University. First and foremost, the university to you should mean a world of opportunities for your professional growth, obtaining a degree in your speciality, a military occupational speciality, sports and extracurricular achievements, and many other possibilities. My main wish is that during your studies at the university you seize these opportunities and use every moment to its fullest. Welcome to our big family!"
As the tradition goes, the freshmen promised to be worthy of the title of SUSU students. After that they met the directors of the university schools and institutes and received their student ID cards.
We should note that this year a record-breaking number of students enrolled in South Ural State University: more than 7000 people submitted their applications to various university academic programmes.
"I enrolled to the History programme of the Institute of Media, Social Sciences and Humanities. I'm really looking forward to very cool studies, great communication and events, and hope to make friends with my group mates. I also like to go in for sports, so I hope that I will get a chance to apply my skills. Anyways, I'm really happy that chose to enrol in SUSU," shared 1st-year SUSU student Viktoriia Cheliakova.
To continue the celebrations, a festive musical concert will be held. Also, many interactive venues will be working. More on that in our next news piece.
