SUSU Is Strengthening Its Presence in the Three University Missions International Ranking

South Ural State University retained its position in the new edition of the Three University Missions International Ranking. In 2021 it includes 1650 universities from 97 countries. Russia is represented by 112 universities.

SUSU was the only university from the Chelyabinsk Region to enter the ranking. The university took the 32–38 positions among Russian universities and the 901–1000 positions in the world ranking.

Russia was one of the top three countries in terms of representation of universities in the ranking. Educational institutions from 39 regions of the Russian Federation are included in the list of the world's best universities. The majority are from Moscow (33 universities) and St. Petersburg (11). Five universities were included from the Tomsk Region and Tatarstan and four from the Samara Region.

The Moscow International University Ranking is an academic ranking that evaluates the three key missions of a university: education, science, and engagement with society. The ranking also takes into account the size of the online audience of the university’s website, the number of winners of international student competitions, and the ratio of the university budget to the number of students.

Only objective criteria based on official data (including public reports from universities) and data from reputable international information providers are used to compile the rankings. Reputation surveys are excluded.

The Three University Missions ranking was created by the Russian Rectors’ Union by order of the President of Russia V.V. Putin. The ranking is operated by the Association of Ratings, Rankings, and Other Performance Assessments, the members of which include leading rating and research centres.
