Results of the UMNIK 2020 Contest Announced

In December 2020, the finals of the UMNIK All-Russian competition of research and innovation projects of the Foundation on Innovations Facilitation was held at South Ural State University.

For the competition, 88 projects by students, postgraduates, young scientists and innovators aged 18 to 30 were presented, and 27 participants from South Ural State University received approval of the Foundation and a two-year funding in the amount of 500 thousand roubles.

“We have been waiting for the results of the contest for 4 months. I am very glad that the projects by our students and academic staff were appreciated, and they received funding. During the time of waiting, some participants even lost faith in their victory, but the procedure for making a decision on financing certain projects is quite complicated, therefore there is a time lag between the finals and making the final decision by the Foundation. Only after the finals all applications are considered one more time by the competition committee of the Foundation, and only after that, taking into account the received assessments from the regional committee, the final decision on the winners is made,” said Chairperson of the SUSU Young Scientists Council Daria Kremer.

The contest is aimed at supporting projects in the following thematic fields: H1. Digital Technologies, H2. Medicine and Technologies of Health Protection, Н3. New Materials and Chemical Technologies, H4. New Devices and Intelligent Production Technologies, H5. Biotechnology, H6. Resource-Saving Power Engineering.
