Foreign language over a cup of tea: the South Ural Association of International Students and Alumni is launching a new project.
An English Club is opening at South Ural State University. The organizers have stated that everyone who wishes to join is invited, but they note that it is better to have at least an A2 level of English (basic English).
“We expect that these will be casual conversations over a cup of tea in English with students from around the world. On the one hand, it is an intercultural exchange, because both Russian and foreign students can take part in the project, and on the other hand, it is real language practice," says Valeria Chachina, a specialist in the International Student Support. “It's not a class, it's a conversation club. We don't expect that everyone will have the same level of language knowledge; on the contrary, we have set a goal of improving the language level of each participant, for this purpose each meeting will have a certain topic."
The first class will be held in Room 019 of the main university building (East Wing) on February 13th at 16:00, and then every Saturday after that. To participate in the project, contact the organizer, Roni Alrakhi.
