In 2021, the Institute of Supplementary Education of South Ural State University will continue to actively cooperate with the region’s businesses. The list of programs of professional retraining now includes an additional professional program entitled “Metallurgy of Ferrous Metals” (540 hours).
The Institute of Supplementary Education develops programs of professional retraining and advanced training programs based on orders from businesses, and taking into consideration modern professional standards and employer requirements. In this case, Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant (ChMK)—a subsidiary of the Mechel Group, a global mining and metallurgy company—ordered this program for their specialists. The Mechel Group includes around 20 industrial enterprises: producers of coal, iron ore, steel, rolled products, ferroalloys, and heat and electric power.
During the studies, which will be held using online learning technologies, young metallurgy specialists will broaden their knowledge of modern steelmaking in our country and around the world, and will gain the skills the qualified specialists need for the production of cast iron, steel, and ferroalloys.
The new program was introduced in addition to the following programs: Physical and Chemical Foundations of Innovative Technologies for Materials Production. Modern Methods of Materials Study (250 hours); Foundry Production (264 hours); and Metrological Support of Manufacturing, Organization and Performance of Metrology (280 hours).
