The Institute of Law of South Ural State University held a round table on Anti-Corruption Management using the Google Meet platform. The event was timed to coincide with the International Anti-Corruption Day, which is celebrated annually on December 9th.
The round table was attended by the academic and teaching staff, and students of the SUSU Department of Law Enforcement and National Security and the Aktobe Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after M. Bukenbaev.
Opening the round table, Deputy Director of the SUSU Institute of Law, Candidate of Sciences (History), Associate Professor, retired police colonel Vladimir Maisak noted in his welcoming speech:
“The current state of the society testifies to the special relevance of research on such a negative phenomenon as corruption. All social systems of the government, both in the public and private spheres, are subject to corruption manifestations, to one degree or another. Ensuring the fight against corruption is one of the main fields of activity under the state policy of the Russian Federation”.

“Today in the Republic of Kazakhstan the problem of eradicating corruption has a national status. Jointly with public and political forces, a large-scale anti-corruption campaign is being conducted to suppress and restrict the manifestation of corruption,” said the Deputy Head of the Aktobe Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after M. Bukenbaev, Candidate of Sciences (Law), police colonel Altai Baisultanov.
The audience was keenly interested in the report by the Head of the Department of Law Enforcement and National Security of the SUSU Institute of Law, Doctor of Sciences (Law), Associate Professor, member of the International Association for the Promotion of Justice, retired police lieutenant colonel Sergei Zuev on the interrelation between politics and corruption, on the psychology of the corrupt behaviour, on micro- and macro risks generated by corruption.
In his report Evgeny Nikitin, Associate Professor of the Department of Law Enforcement and National Security of the SUSU Institute of Law, Candidate of Sciences (Law), Associate Professor, retired police colonel spoke about the use of information technologies in the field of combating corruption.
The representatives of the Aktobe Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after M. Bukenbaev, a senior lecturer of the Department of General Legal Disciplines, Master of Law, police lieutenant colonel Murat Tuleshev and a researcher of a Research Centre, police major A.A. Dlimov shared their experience in organizing work to promote anti-corruption values in the Republic of Kazakhstan and proposals for taking measures to prevent corruption offenses.
An active discussion was sparked by the report on the participation of educational organisations in the process of forming an anti-corruption worldview among students by Tatiana Pestova, Associate Professor of the Department of Law Enforcement and National Security of the SUSU Institute of Law, Candidate of Sciences (Law).
During the round table, the theoretical issues were accompanied by an analysis of practical measures to combat corruption crimes, and recommendations were made to improve the efficiency of anti-corruption measures.
