In order not to become a victim of fraudsters, you need to be able to protect personal data, and managers of large enterprises must take care of the safety of information related to the production activities. The importance of cybersecurity was once again emphasized at the press conference “Cyber Threats: Opinion of South Urals Experts”, held online under the guidance of “Granada Press”.

He spoke about how the REC implements one of the goals that is the support of the educational process of students of the Department of Information Security of the School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science. Students work with real programs that ensure information security provided by Kaspersky Laboratory, which is a REC's partner. In addition, real projects are being implemented.

“We are developing cooperation with partners of Kaspersky Laboratory, who implement and use their products in the regions. Our cross-cutting theme is related to the production facilities, the Internet of Things. A partnership has been established with ChelPipe, and a project-based learning program is being implemented with it. Students work according to the task set by the employer, undergo practical training on its site, and within the framework of this activity they write term papers and final qualification works,” said Andrey Barinov.

SUSU students are trained in the disciplines that meet the current requirements for information security specialists. The need for professionals in this field is only increasing, thus, SUSU graduates are in demand on the labour market.
