International cooperation is actively developing at South Ural State University. In 2020, the university prepared new agreements on joint work in research and education with foreign universities.
One of the goals of such agreements is the implementation of joint educational programmes and academic mobility programs. Since the beginning of 2020, South Ural State University has signed ten new agreements on international cooperation. Research and education organisations from Chile, Tunisia, Austria, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and China became its partners. Long-standing partnerships have been established with many countries.
"Due to the effective work of the academic and administrative staff of South Ural State University, our students receive decent education, and also always have support and assistance in solving the most important issues. Students from Uzbekistan are proud to study at the best and most prestigious university in the South Ural region," the Consul General of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdusalom Khatomov says in his letter of thanks.
Among the new partners of the major university in the South Ural region is the International Education and Research Center Ltd. private company, Kazakhstan; University of Leoben, Austria; University of Kairouan, Tunisia; Tajik State Finance and Economics University, Tajikistan; and the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tajikistan, Tajikistan.
Cooperation has been established with the Hainan Tropical Ocean University, China, and the Finis Terrae University, Chile, in the framework of academic mobility of students. Joint educational programmes have been implemented with two more universities, the first Bachelor's degree students have already enrolled for the 2020-2021 academic year.
The Namangan Engineering-Construction Institute, Uzbekistan and SUSU began work on such educational programmes as "Construction", "Business Informatics", and "Plant-based Food". There are also programmes on "Foreign Regional Studies", "Philology", and "Mathematics and Computer Science" available as part of the agreement with Osh State University, Kyrgyzstan.
Students will take training at universities in their home countries for the first two academic years, and the disciplines of the third and forth academic years will be mastered at SUSU.
South Ural State University is a university of digital transformations, where innovative research is carried out in most of the priority fields of development of science and technology. In accordance with the strategies of scientific and technological development of the Russian Federation, the university is focused on the development of big scientific interdisciplinary projects in the field of Digital Industry, Materials Science, and Ecology. Within the framework of these fields, objects of metallurgy, mechanical engineering, power engineering, housing and communal services, safe urban infrastructure, and human comfort are studied.
SUSU is a participant of Project 5-100, which aims at enhancing competitiveness of Russian universities among global leading research and educational centres.
