Marina Koviazina graduated from the Faculty of Journalism of South Ural State University in 2016. The following year she returned to her alma mater already to work as the university’s PR specialist, and she keeps working here today.
“SUSU provided me with a wonderful education, which helps me not just in my work, but in everyday life as well. I fell in love with the university when I was a student, that’s why I decided to work here and help it prosper, while gaining quality experience at the same time,” shared Marina.
The already performed works include covering dozens of major university events, publication of hundreds of articles and thousands of shooting hours in interviews with the academic staff, students, as well as the university scientists organized by Marina for the city and regional mass media.
This summer the editor of the News Department of the SUSU Mediacommunications and Monitoring Office filled out an application to participate in the 2020 Miss Office contest, to represent herself and South Ural State University at the international level. A couple of weeks since the questionnaire was filled out, the longed-for reply came in saying ‘Congratulations! You qualified!’.
“Miss Office beauty contest is a competition among female office workers, who give all of themselves to their work, help their company to develop and achieve success. At the same time, a true Miss Office must manage to spare time for herself, do sports, always look good, and have a hobby. In a word, Miss Office is a role model of a modern business woman. I believe that over the three years of my work at the university, I’ve come a long way both in work and beyond it: I have changed greatly and have become more confident, and I’m willing to share this experience!” explains the semi-finalist of the 2020 Miss Office.
More than 32 thousand applications from different corners of the world were filed for the participation in this contest. Every week, selection rounds and webinars were held for the contestants, where they had to present themselves and demonstrate their unique features. As a result of all the rounds, Marina Koviazina made to the semi-final and became one of the 113 participants who would be fighting for a place in the final.
“It’s a great piece of luck to get to the semi-final! But it’s even greater luck to make it to the final of the International Contest and get a chance to represent myself and SUSU in Moscow! On September 25th the online voting will open, and it will last through October 15th. It’s a very exciting time for each contestant. SUSU is a huge institution with more than 30 thousand people studying and working here. It is important for me that my university “compatriots” believe in me and vote for me!”
The difficult part about the voting is that you have to vote every day: you can vote from one device only once. Also, for the final results to be more objective, you have to vote not just for “your” contestant, but for two others that you like as well.
Only 25 participants will make it to the final: those who will get the majority of votes, along with five more contestants selected by the jury. The final will be held on November 21, 2020 in Moscow, where the participants will fight to win the title of Miss Office 2020, a crown adorned with gem stones, and 2 million roubles.
