For the 13th time South Ural State University has hosted a dance festival among student labour unions. Over 300 union members from 20 teams demonstrated their talents under two categories: “Street Dance” and “Pop Dance”. The SUSU Headquarters of Student Labour Unions was represented by 7 teams in the finals.
The event is traditionally held on the eve of the Russian Student Unions Day celebration. This year, the topic of the event is “Russian Student Unions BOOM: Style. Labour. Hype”. It was a great pleasure for the students to dance on stage on February 16th. By their performances the participants wanted to show the audience that it is both interesting, fun and fancy to be a part of the Russian student unions. The organizers are sure that the festival will raise the dancing, cultural and artistic level of the participants, strengthen relationships among the team members from different cities, as well as popularize the student union movement among the youth.
As representatives of the SUSU Headquarters of Student Labour Unions 7 teams had made it to the finals, and 4 of them became the festival winners:
“Street Dance” category

2nd place ‒ “Zazhigai!” student pedagogical team

SUSU student Maksim Zolotov is the head of the SUSU Headquarters of Student Labour Unions. He is participating in the festival organization for the fourth time already. The student claims that year after year the number of participants grows, and the performances become more and more interesting. This makes the dance festival a dynamic and highly-anticipated one.
“I’ve really enjoyed this event! All the guys have obviously raised the level of their dance routines, and many participants teams joined their forces to expand the scale of their performances. But it’s not only the participants who grow, the organizers do as well: every year they come up with a new topic, concept and presentation. As for our team, we didn’t manage to prepare everything we’d planned. But the commissioner of the Headquarters of Student Labour Unions and one of the main organizers of the dance festival Marina Amineva managed to bring her ideas to life through the use of our capabilities. Currently we’re collecting feedback from the audience, so that we could fix all our mistakes next year.”
The event was held by South Ural State University jointly with the Chelyabinsk Regional Division of the Russian Student Teams All-Russian Public Youth Organisation and the SUSU Headquarters of Student Labour Unions.
