The French version of the web-site of the World Journalism Education Congress, which will be held in Paris, France, this July, has posted information on the program of the Russian section – a round table on Journalism Education in Russia in the Context of Transmedia Development, aimed at exchanging the experience. This will be held at Paris-Dauphine University on July 8, 2019 from 11:00 till 13:00. Doctor of Sciences (Philology), Professor, Dean of the SUSU Faculty of Journalism Liudmila Shesterkina was appointed the head of this section.
“It is for the first time in the history of the World Journalism Education that namely a Russian section is organized at such a big-scale and authoritative forum,” shared Liudmila Shesterkina. “This happened largely thanks to Elena Vartanova, Dean of Faculty of Journalism at Lomonosov Moscow State University. Academics of faculties of journalism from the leading Russian universities (Lomonosov Moscow State University, RUDN University, St Petersburg University, Lobachevsky University, North-Caucasus Federal University, Ural Federal University and, of course, SUSU) are delivering their presentations in Paris regarding most relevant problems of the modern system of training media specialists. My report is devoted to the practices of project-based learning at SUSU and the modern trends in training young journalists.”
The delegation of South Ural State University to be participating in the Congress also included Candidate of Sciences (Philology), Associate Professor at the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication Anna Krasavina with a report on the Peculiarities of VR Content; and Head of the SUSU Production Photostudio Laboratory, editor of the Digital Communications Office of the Marketing and Strategic Communications Department Oleg Igoshin with his report on the Image of Science in Modern Photography.
Moreover, the SUSU delegation will hold a presentation of our university in the context of the forthcoming 2020 Science-to-practice conference of the European Journalism Training Association to be organized in Chelyabinsk. Anna Krasavina will present her report at the Congress’s section on the Technological Mutations And The Future Of Journalistic Practices (in English). Also, a ceremony of awarding the winners of the Congress creative contests will be held, in which SUSU took first places under the categories of Television and Photojournalism.
