In the context of the ending of this academic year, South Ural State University invited the Commercial Director of ASCON-Ural, Sergey Kartashov, who delivered a lecture within the frameworks of the courses on Practicum on the Type of Professional Activity; Production Technology; and Production Organisation.
For students of the 3rd, 4th, and 5th years of study under the programme on Munitions and Explosive Devices, he has held a series of lectures, shared on the development of Industry 4.0, and on ASCON company.
Sergey Kartashov provided quite a detailed description of the complex automation and the design-and-production stages of the lifecycle of the mechanical engineering products. In the form of a dialogue with students, he informatively went over the information solutions of CAD/CAM/CAE/CAPP/PDM spectres, as well as mentioned the companies, which supply these solutions to the Russian and world markets. The main focus was made on the place of ASCON complex in the stages of a product's lifecycle.
Sergey Kartashov spoke about how a construction is created at the design bureau, how the production engineering services function after that, and how the production process is fulfilled in terms of physical and software work. The speaker also explained the reasonability of using programs and digital packages at each stage.
"I liked the detailed information about CAD/CAM/CAE/CAPP/PDM. The information about the work of a designed and manufacturing engineer. It was interesting to learn about the path that a product passes," shares student of Group П-427 Svetlana Vasilyeva.
Students were able to systematize the already obtained knowledge on such programs as KOMPAS-Grafik, KOMPAS-3D, Vertikal, and others, as well as learn about the software packages Lotsman, Polinomм, FlowVision, and Delta Dezign.
"It was useful to once again hear about the structure of an enterprise and production, about the profession of a CNC machine setup man. I learned about the diversity of programs for a manufacturing engineer and designer," shares student of П-427 Andrey Svidersky.
Students were also interested in an enterprise's digital model, where a product undergoes the complete process from a designer's idea to a finished product manufactured of metal.
