South Ural State University took part in exhibitions on International Education in Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
The International Education exhibitions are large-scale events targeted at development of international cooperation in the sphere of education as well as on providing young people with the possibilities to get high-quality education abroad.
In order to increase the number of international students from Middle Asia, Head of the SUSU International Office, Liudmila Lapina, took part in two exhibitions in the Middle Asia’s countries: the city of Bishkek of the Kyrgyz Republic, and the city of Tashkent of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Each of the exhibitions brought together more than 2 000 participants.
In the course of event, presentations describing SUSU’s advantages had been held for 11th grade students in four schools in Bishkek, and for participants of the International Education exhibition in the Exhibition Centre of the city of Tashkent.
Moreover, SUSU representatives took part in Olympiad tests for senior students of general education institutions intended for further selection of potential SUSU applicants. 608 people took part in the Olympiad of Russian higher education institutions in Bishkek, and 670 soon-to-be school leavers took part in the Olympiad in Tashkent.
“Students from the Kyrgyz Republic expressed especial interest to such majors as Pedagogic Education, Tourism, Product Technology and Catering Organisation, and Economics. Among university applicants from Uzbekistan, the most popular specialisation was Information Technology and such majors as State and Municipal Management, International Relations, and Linguistics,” noted Head of the International Office, Liudmila Lapina.
Participation in such exhibitions and profession-oriented events held for school children from the CIS countries is intended to attract international students to SUSU. This is an important direction of development of the leading higher education institution of the Chelyabinsk region as the university is included in the number of 39 higher education institutions, exporters of Russian education, which have been chosen by the Government and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian federation in 2017.
In the frameworks of this direction, SUSU actively interacts with educational institutions of the CIS countries, in particular, with the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Uzbekistan. Nowadays, there are about 47 students from Kyrgyzstan and 210 students from Uzbekistan studying at SUSU on programmes of various educational levels.
