A delegation from South Ural State University represented by Dean of the Faculty of Journalism, Doctor of Sciences (Philology) Liudmila Shesterkina, Professor, Doctor of Sciences (Philology), Head of the Marketing and Strategic Communications Department Lidiya Lobodenko, and Candidates of Sciences Associate Professors at the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication Olga Kharitonova and Anna Krasavina, took part in the international science-to-practice conference entitled “Journalism in 2018: Creativity, Profession, Industry”.
“The Conference is the main forum on journalism in Russia and is traditionally held at the Faculty of Journalism in Lomonosov MSU,” said Dean of the SUSU Faculty of Journalism, Liudmila Shesterkina. “Every year, it gathers together representatives of journalism-related education and professional community of not just our country but many foreign states as well. This is always an innovative platform for exchange of experience and recognition of research in the sphere of mass media and media education. So it is always very important for us to discuss new prospective work directions with our colleagues.”
At a meeting held by management board of the National Association of Mass Media Researchers (NAMMI), a member of which is Liudmila Shesterkina, a proposal of the SUSU Faculty of Journalism’s Dean regarding organisation of a large-scale research in the sphere of digital media space as a motivator for the society’s humanisation has been approved. A report by Anna Krasavina on SUSU’s experience in implementation of Eurofactcheck international project excited great interest at the section called “Prospective approaches to training of journalists”.
SUSU academics took part in a meeting held by the Education Board and discussed new governmental standards of education in the sphere of Journalism within operation of a plenary session and multiple sessions where reports were delivered by MSU Faculty of Journalism’s Dean Elena Vartanova, Deputy Head of the Roskomnadzor Department Aleksandr Izhko, Director General of JSC Komsomolskaya Pravda Publishing House Vladimir Sungorkin, and other experts in media sphere. Abstracts of reports made by SUSU representatives are published in the Conference Proceedings.
