Automobile and Tractor Faculty of South Ural State University celebrated its 75th anniversary. A series of festive events took place in honour of this significant date.
Automobile and Tractor Faculty became one of the first faculties of Chelyabinsk Mechanical Engineering Institute, the current SUSU. By the 75th anniversary, the organized festive events called together students, academics, and graduates of the home faculty.
In the hall of the third floor of the SUSU second building, a gallery of the graduates of Automobile and Tractor Faculty was created. Dean of the Faculty, Yurij Rozhdestvenskiy has solemnly opened it.
“On the third floor, there is the Dean's Office of the Automobile and Tractor Faculty and in summer in the hall, a selection committee is working. The young people who will come to our faculty will be able to see and understand what specialists they will be after they graduate. We have a stand with excellent students, outstanding graduates, and chief designers.”
I am proud of our graduates because they are ahead of the automotive industry curve. Among them, there are directors, deputy directors of various enterprises, chief designers and leading engineers.
Traditionally, there was a flashmob on the square in front of the SUSU Main Building. Students, who are the car owners, have made up the inscription “AT-75” using their cars. The organizer of the event is the second year student of the master programme of Automobile and Tractor Faculty Alexandr Prilukov told about the flashmob.
“When I entered the Automobile and Tractor Faculty, SUSU celebrated its 70th anniversary. I almost immediately became the organizer of this flashmob, and now we arrange it annually. At first, we set the letters and numbers from people, but then we started to set them from cars. This year was the anniversary, so we tried to surprise the audience to the maximum. Well, traditionally, our flashmob ended in a spectacular drift on the square in front of SUSU.”
A concert, which took place in the SUSU Activity Hall for students, academics, and graduates of Automobile and Tractor Faculty, became the main solemn part. The groups of the Creativity Centre of SUSU presented their bright performances for the guests of the event. Among the groups, there was the Male-voice Choir of Automobile and Tractor Engineering Faculty under the direction of Nonna Streltsova and Lyubov Streletsova.
“There are not only students of Automobile and Tractor Faculty, who sing in the choir. Every year we organize the new enrolment: graduate students, the graduates of the faculty and others who like to sing. In the choir, it is not easy with the boys, almost no one has a musical education, and however, we have a tight rehearsal schedule. I work with pleasure and believe that the spiritual development of a student is very important.”
In the course of the concert, honours graduates of Automobile and Tractor Faculty were given the floor. They could go on stage and congratulate their favourite faculty and their academics. At the end of the holiday, veterans of Automobile and Tractor Faculty were presented with flowers.
