On October 2, the Physical Training and Sports Festival of students starts in the village of Sukko, in which representatives of the Russian and Belarusian universities will take part. The event takes place within the framework of a large Russian-Belarusian project – Sports and Athletic Meeting of the Union State for Children and Youth. The Meeting has been held annually since 2003. The main goal of the competition is to strengthen the friendship of the youth of fraternal peoples.
Members of student sports clubs of Russia from 16 universities will present our country at the competition. In total, more than 100 students are going to Anapa. The authority to form teams of the Association of Student Sports Clubs of Russia was delegated by the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation.
The following students of South Ural State University are in the Russian team: Anatoly Mikhailov, Kamil Yusupov, Danila Sedin, as well as the team coach Vladimir Sadovsky. Our sportsmen will perform in kettlebell lifting.
The geography of the Russian delegation is very extensive: these are students from Moscow, St. Petersburg, the republics of Buryatia, Adygea, Komi, and Chuvashia, the Belgorod, Chelyabinsk, and Ryazan Regions, the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District and the Krasnodar Territory. It is worth noting that the Kuban is the only region from which the representatives of three universities go to the Festival at once.
At the Physical Training and Sports Festival, students will try their hand at five disciplines: 3x3 basketball (girls), volleyball (boys), kettlebell lifting, darts, and table tennis. Competitions will be held on the site of the medical and fitness complex “Vityaz” in the city of Anapa and will last until October 5 inclusive.
In 2018, within the framework of the Sports and Athletic Meeting of the Union State for Children and Youth, the Student Youth Games (Zhlobin, Belarus) had already taken place; preparations for Olimp Students Games (Mogilev, Belarus) and the football competition for schoolchildren “Memory of Heroes of Victory” (Volgograd, Russia) are underway.
