Students of Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities of SUSU undertake an internship at the Traktor Ice Hockey Club of Chelyabinsk.
South Ural State University has been cooperating with one of the best Russian ice hockey clubs not for the first year. In the season of 2016-2017 the Traktor ice hockey club became the bronze medalist of the Gagarin Cup of the KHL Championship.
“We try to make an interesting internship. The main thing is to give a sense of all the nuances of the chosen profession in a real case. Students will understand whether they have made the right choice, whether they will be able to work in the chosen specialty. The task of Traktor as a base of practical training is to make students fall in love with their future profession,” says Elena Ermolaeva, Chief Specialist in Public Relations of the Traktor Hockey Club.
A student of the 1st year of study of SUSU Advertising and Public Relations specialty Ekaterina Zavadskaya told about her internship at the hockey club.
“I live in Chelyabinsk and have been interested in hockey for a long time, particularly, in the activities of the Traktor hockey team. I was interested to see how the work is going on inside the team, learn the peculiar features of marketing, organization and PR from within. I want to get experience of interaction with different people, establish useful contacts.”
A student of the 1st year of study of SUSU Advertising and Public Relations specialty Arseny Shlyapin explained why he decided to undertake an internship at the hockey club.
“Traktor is a big organization with the developed PR system where I want to obtain some good experience. Here I deal with the volunteer activity, attend press conferences, in general I work in a team called the Traktor Press Service.
On August 10, on the ground of the Traktor Ice Arena, there was an event “Traktor Open” devoted to the opening of the hockey season of 2018-2019. There the trainees acted as volunteers.
“I am glad that I became a part of such a major event as Traktor Оpen. There are a lot of entertainment zones from sponsors here, and it's interesting for me to interact in this atmosphere,” says SUSU student Arseny Shlyapin.
The next stage of students' internship is the Governor's Cup, where the guys will take part in the organization and preparation of matches, help in holding pre-match events and actions, will be able to see the work of the press and the organization of television broadcasts.
