For the eighth time at a run students of Journalism and Communication Management Department of Kostanay State University named after A. Baitursynov undertook an educational training at the Faculty of Journalism at SUSU in the frames of academic mobility program. Here they are attracted by the possibility of taking a practice in the conditions of digital integration of university mass media on the basis of world-class media laboratory – 360-degree multimedia newsroom of SUSU. In this modern digital mediacomplex which comprises all types of university mass media - SUSU-TV television company, SUSU Radio Studio, Technopolis University Newspaper and University Internet sites students from Kazakhstan study a real cooperation of university mass media in a digital space and in practice obtain the competences of universal journalists.
“The practice was intense,” said the 2nd year student of Journalism and Communication Management Department of Kostanay State University Arman Alibekov. “First of all we studied the television technologies. At SUSU News Information Editors Office we worked as correspondents, at Instruments Room we studied the basics of montage, editors of SUSU-TV taught us to create and synchronize the texts of TV spots.”
Except for television students from Kazakhstan tried their hands in making educational material at University Radio Studio: recorded radio broadcasts and urgent interviews. During the practice a special attention was paid to the work at 360-degree convergent newsroom. The trainees from Kazakhstan explored the peculiarities of multimedia journalistic activity in social networks.
“We are glad when students from the friendly Kostanay State University named after A. Baitursynov come to take practice at our University. We have a lot of our own students who come from Kazakhstan and study at SUSU,” said Dean of Faculty of Journalism, Doctor of Philological Sciences Liudmila Shesterkina. “The ties of cooperation in the sphere of teaching modern journalism, carrying out scientific and practical conferences, creative journalistic competitions and, of course, organization of educational and practical trainings have been binding us with the colleagues from Kazakhstan for many years. To our mind this time as well as the previous ones students from Kazakhstan did the practice with the mark “excellent”!”
