Applicants are continuing to get to know South Ural State University at foresight sessions. Excursions to the laboratories, seminars, quests, and other events are held for future students for them to receive detailed information about the possible fields of study, so that they can make the right choice.
The Institute of Architecture and Construction has prepared a meeting with Director Dmitry Ulrich and the heads of the IAC departments for the school graduates, in which they told the students about the possibilities which will open for them if they enroll at South Ural State University.
The staff of the School of Medical Biology held an excursion through their laboratories and a taste test of bread with anti-stress properties which is created at the university, during their presentation “Healthy Eating. Anti-stress Foods”. Associate Professor of the Department of Food and Biotechnology Irina Kalinina spoke about the unique features of training future specialists for the food industry.
The School of Economics and Management held two intriguing events for the applicants – a business game called “Build Your Career” and a master class on “Technical Means of Customs Control” for those who see their future in customs.
For future students of the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, senior lecturer of the Department of Automation and Control Aleksandr Basalaev held an excursion to the Laboratory of Automation and Control of Technological Processes, which was opened as part of a joint academic project with the leading producer of means of industrial automation and control and measurement devices – the Swiss company Endress+Hauser.
The Laboratory of Systems of Automation and Control of Technological Processes is equipped with high-class modern industrial equipment, and the centerpiece is the laboratory stand for complex, full-scale modeling of heat power systems, including subsystems for generation, transportation, and use of thermal energy, as well as systems for chemical water treatment. The work of SEECS students in the laboratory allows them to master technical skills of setting up and operating modern control and measurement technologies.
Many applicants are participating in almost all of the foresight sessions to choose the field of study best for them.
“I am attending excursions around the university to get more familiar with it and to choose what is interesting to me. I am focusing on equipment programming, development of specific programs, and I’m also looking at Software Engineering or Applied Mathematics and Informatics. I like the university’s laboratories – it’s much better to learn something when you can work with equipment, do something with your own hands, rather than just study lectures,” says SUSU applicant Kirill Nebero.
The foresight sessions will continue until the end of July, and applicants are invited to get to know other divisions of the university.
On July 28th at 12:00, the Rector’s Hour will be held in the conference hall of the Main University Building, at which the Rector of SUSU, Aleksandr Shestakov will answer questions about the university’s position in the international academic and research space, the prospects of studying at the university, graduates’ employment, and students’ extracurricular activities.
