On June 6 of 2018, they were not just Russian philologists but also their Chinese colleagues who celebrated the Birthday of A.S. Pushkin. Heihe University, supported by ILIC’s Pushkin Institute Research, Education and Coordination Center, also celebrated this significant event.
As we know, June 6 is also the Russian Language Day. This is why the Chinese university decided to go off script of Pushkin’s readings and organize a full-scale declamation contest. 15 students of the Faculty of Russian as a Foreign Language, united by their affection to Russian poetry, took part in the event.
On-stage declamations included poetry of A.S. Pushkin, M.Yu. Lermontov, S.A. Esenin, M.I. Tsvetaeva and military poems of S.P. Gudzenko and K.M. Simonov. The event was very festive and touching.
