Dear veterans, participants of the Great Patriotic War and homefront workers;
Dear lecturers and employees, students and postgraduates of South Ural State University,
My congratulations to you on this very special date, the 73rd Anniversary of the Great Victory.
The Victory Day is a holiday that forever left a mark in the history of our Motherland, a special date which became a symbol of a great heroic deed for the sake of our peaceful future.
Today, decades later, we cannot forget how much was given away to earn this Victory. We will be forever indebted to our nearest and dearest ones, grandfathers and great-grandfathers who gave their lives or went through that war and returned home safe. We remember the great heroic deed of the Soviet Army soldiers, the warriors whose names we will never know, those fallen in battle, homefront workers, and every person whose unstoppable courage and dedicated service made possible the peaceful future of our country.
In 1943, a critical year for the Soviet people, started the history of our university. Since the very first days of its existence our university trained the best engineers, technicians, and scientists, brilliant specialists whose work contributed to our victory in the Great Patriotic War. It were our fellow townsmen who created the best weapons of that time, built dozens of factories which supplied military machinery to the front. Today we are saying the words of gratitude to our warriors and defenders, our nearest and dearest ones, and we remember that we must be worthy successors of the Great Generation.
Happy Victory Day, dear friends! May every day of our peaceful life bring us true happiness and wellbeing!
