On March 14th a meeting with Deputy Chairperson of the Federation Council Committee for Agriculture-and-Food Policy and Use of Natural Resource Irina Gekht was held at South Ural State University.
Social and agricultural policies became the topic of the meeting. Changing priorities in social support with consideration to targeting and needs was discussed.
“Social support measures should be targeted at those who really need it, those whose income is below the subsistence minimum wage, those who have found themselves in life circumstances that caused deterioration of health and lowering of living status. The same issues were raised in the Massage by our President – we need to re-orient the system of social benefits,” notes Irina Gekht.
Also the Federation Council member shared on further improvement of the healthcare system, and first of all that of the children’s healthcare.
“Colossal assets have been allocated today for repairing and equipment of children’s policlinics and regional clinical hospitals for children. Oncology Program will be launched next year also aiming at improvement of the oncological service in Russia. Undoubtedly, we pay attention to the issues of rural medicine as well. Reviving the system of medical-and-obstetric centers and outpatient clinics is of priority to us today so that population of the rural sector had access to quality medical care,” says Irina Alfredovna.
The meeting was held in the format of a discussion, so the students had an opportunity to ask all questions important to them.
“We have mutual interest with students. It is interesting for them to learn about what the State Duma and Federation Council deal with. And I’m interested in learning their opinions and views on those processes that are taking place in our country,” stresses the politician.
