On December 19, a discussion of plans for further development of legal education and science at SUSU were held during a briefing session of Heads of structural subdivisions of the Institute of Law.
A vision for development of digital technologies in jurisprudence was presented for consideration. This direction is determined as prospective and prioritized. At the present time, this becomes extremely important in regard with extensive use of electronic document management in arbitration proceedings, the use of digital technologies in the elective franchise, improvement of electronic sources of evidence in criminal proceedings, implementation of technical control in the system of administrative and legal regulation, etc. The new direction also successfully corresponds with a course chosen by the university and targeted at digital transformation.
Within the already-operating web site called “Development of Information Technologies in Criminal Proceedings” (RITVUS), it is planned to solve a series of organizational, legal and technical issues in creating a digital interuniversity laboratory for implementation of joint research projects in the given sphere of knowledge in cooperation with Bauman Moscow State Technical University.
Questions about developing a free virtual legal clinic, holding conferences dedicated to digital and electronic technologies in legal sphere, etc. also excited interest.
